A LIFE OF S E I T I L I B I S S O P We believe that overseas travel is one of the most empowering, life-altering forms of learning possible. We’re passionate about what we do and have dedicated ourselves to the pursuit of creating unique school trips that educate, enrich and inspire the next generation. For over 35 years, we’ve enabled transformative travel experiences right around the world. These experiences complement school learning, giving students the opportunity to become true life-learners and global citizens. It’s the kind of learning that students will carry with them long into the future; learning that can only come from experiencing this amazing planet and the unique cultures that inhabit it. We give students the opportunity to write their own stories, make their own mistakes, live their own adventures, learn and grow with peers, and see the world with open eyes that are focused on those around them. We’ve watched as these life-changing experiences have brought out the best in our challengers for many years, since 1987 in fact. It’s perhaps best brought to life by our 150,000+ alumni that have returned home forever changed, many being inspired to continue the pursuit of positive global citizenship, from advocacy work in foreign nations through to leading world-shaping environmental initiatives. We offer much more than a trip overseas. That said, it all begins with saying yes to adventure, yes to ignoring comfort zones, yes to embracing the unknown. A world of possibility awaits.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES Together with our teachers, students and trip leaders, we’ve created a strong legacy of delivering the best, most cost-effective, life-enriching experiences possible. We believe in the power of travel to educate and inspire young people. From providing online pre-departure learning resources to facilitating experiences on trips, we aim to maximise educational opportunities. We hope this will create a lasting impact, as travellers move into adulthood with a greater awareness of themselves and the world around them.

Our educational outcomes Students will gain a greater understanding of how to act for a more sustainable future, at both local and global levels.

Students will be empowered to build on their self-care strategies, enhancing their physical and mental wellbeing.

Students will be immersed in different cultures and experiences, growing to understand their role within our global community.

Students will experience and reflect on the power of being pushed outside of their comfort zone, allowing the development of initiative, confidence, and resilience.

Students will be challenged to think critically about topical issues that affect our past, present and future around the world.

Students will build a deeper connection to their own identity and personal values, developing their independence and sense of self.

Measuring success We asked our trip leaders for feedback on the learning and growth experienced by students on their trips in 2022. Here’s what they reported: 4%

SAFE AND SECURE TRIPS PRE-RISK ASSESSED TRIPS In a post-COVID-19 world safety has become more important than ever. Our trips follow a set itinerary that has been risk-assessed to the highest standards. From pre-booked and audited transport to carefully selected accommodation and activities, you can rest easy – we’ve done all necessary work before departure to mitigate the risk of things going wrong in-country. If anything unexpected comes up overseas our experienced ground teams and 24/7 operations centre will be on hand to assist. We have a dedicated team managing our operations centres in both hemispheres, utilising the best safety and risk management systems and processes available.

24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK Our technologies integrate real-time government and private security advice that informs all our plans. We’ve built a unique auditing system to monitor the safety and professionalism of all our in-country partners, which continually screens all pre-booked transport, accommodation, and activities. Together all these initiatives have resulted in the average number of incidents on our trips reducing by well over 50% since before COVID-19. We’re dedicated to safety and risk management above all else.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES Our initiatives provide authentic opportunities for community engagement. Through meaningful, hands-on and culturally immersive experiences, students can make a positive impact, bringing home greater humility and a sense of place in the world.

ETHICAL APPROACH

POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION

CHILD WELFARE

Initiatives focus on fostering global values and upholding a high standard of ethics.

Our community initiatives are carefully selected to enable young people to collaborate on programmes that make a lasting impact, long beyond the end of the visit.

We don’t visit orphanages and have a detailed child welfare policy.

We base our sustainable travel initiatives upon the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and work to support these through our travels.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 for the year 2030. 9
