FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions
What if my child wants to stay on to do some independent travel? We are a community of travellers and believe there is nothing like exploring the world to open your heart and mind. We would be happy to discuss the possibilities of changing the return dates on your child’s ticket to facilitate some independent travel at the end of the trip.
What are the supervision arrangements? Two qualified World Challenge leaders will accompany the team of up to 16 students on every trip. We don’t directly supervise students all the time but we are always available, make sure they are in groups of four and know what’s necessary to stay safe.
Is there insurance? We have a bespoke insurance policy that covers our travellers for all important scenarios. It offers unlimited medical cover, including transport to world-class facilities in the case of an emergency, as well as medically-necessary return flights home. Personal belongings are not covered under our insurance, and we recommend that students take out pre-departure insurance in the event they have to cancel their trip before the departure date.
How does the incentive scheme work? Simple. We provide support and collateral for your child to attract like-minded young people to the program. When they get three mates on board they receive a 30% refund and a subsequent 10% refund for each friend thereafter. If they get 10 mates on board they travel for free! Get in touch to ask us how.
Are students allowed to drink?
SAFETY AND
Back up
We’ve spent 30 years preparing for this trip and our focus on safety never stands still. We’re proud of an investment of $850,000 over the last 3 years in the continued development of our industry-leading operational support for teams in the field, and in our preparation before teams even set foot on the plane. There’s a lot to talk about. Our depth of provision is what sets us apart. Click here to read more about our Safety & Back up.
We believe that you don’t need alcohol to have a good time and our travellers agree. For this reason and for the safety of the whole team, we focus on providing an alcohol-free alternative to the typical schoolies experience.
What happens if they get sick? Our standard of care is one of the key things that sets us apart from other providers. It starts with our medically trained leaders who are responsible for supervising our team and extends to our support network including in country staff, medical partners and operations centres located around the world. All of which is covered by our insurance.
What happens if they need to come home early? We understand that in extreme circumstances, students may need to come home unexpectedly. In the case of a medical emergency either on expedition or in the immediate family back home, our insurance policy will cover the costs involved.
What happens if the destination becomes unsafe? It won’t be the end, just a new beginning. Our expert operations agents will divert the students to a new destination, ensuring an ongoing and safe adventure. All at no cost to you.
