It often pays to be handy over this track and trip and therefore, this could go the way of DESERT SAFARI, who proved he was more than just a one trick pony when notching up a first turf success at Goodwood. He is only 4lb higher this time and won’t shy away from a battle at the business end. Lexington Dash was two lengths clear of Aberama Gold (second) at Doncaster last month and could have more to come, while the latter may appreciate the application of cheekpieces and is more than capable. The returning Danzeno is an ultra-consistent performer likely to be thereabouts at the finish, with Ejtilaab and Kimifive also noted dropping back in trip. WIN: DESERT SAFARI

DANGER: LEXINGTON DASH

Tagalie was a rare grey Derby winner. Only four of that hue have prevailed, the others being Gustavus (1821), Mahmoud (1936) and Airborne (1946). The latest grey to come close to victory was Silver Patriarch, a short-head runner-up to Benny The Dip in 1997, while Terimon was second in 1989.
