Hamilton Park Handicap (Class 5

THE STAY AT HAMPTON BY HILTON HAMILTON PARK HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)

RACE DESCRIPTION

This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 56 to 75. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.

RACE STATISTICS

Leading course trainer (16-21): K Dalgleish (56 wins from 434 runners, 13%) runs CARN A CHLAMAIN and EURO IMPLOSION Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): M Johnston (9 wins from 100 runners, 9%) runs FANDABIDOZI Weightwatcher: QAWAMEES won off a handicap mark of 75, his rating is now down 8lb to 67. BETTING FORECAST: 3-1 Euro Implosion (IRE), 9-2 Qawamees (IRE), 5-1 Carn A Chlamain (USA), 11-2 Fandabidozi (IRE), 6-1 Magna Moralia (IRE), 7-1 Golden Hind (GB), 40-1 Magellan (GB) RACE SUMMARY: Though disappointing last time, it’s worth giving another chance to CARN A CHLAMAIN, who pulled clear of the rest when chasing home the progressive Zinc White on his penultimate start at Wetherby. Stablemate Euro Implosion is bound to attract support as he bids to complete the hat-trick, but the selection may have more to fear from fellow 3-y-o Fandabidozi and Qawamees. 1-2-3: 1.CARN A CHLAMAIN (USA) 2.FANDABIDOZI (IRE) 3.QAWAMEES (IRE)
