THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Market Rasen this afternoon for our Lindsey Lodge Hospice Family Extravaganza Raceday. Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare has been providing high quality, specialist palliative care and wellbeing services to local people and families living with life-limiting illnesses for over 29 years. Lindsey Lodge focuses on the positives, providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness to improve quality of life for them and their loved ones, and to help them look ahead. There are a number of ways in which you can donate to Lindsey Lodge today, including bucket collections, QR code donations and interactive games. Your donations will be gratefully received and will help Lindsey Lodge to continue their vital work. The charity will also be launching its 'Win a Car for Christmas' campaign on course, for your chance to win a brand new Suzuki Ignis. We are extremely grateful to today's race sponsors, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, DDM, Gravel Master, Threadgold, Jotun's Galapagos, Dash for Dan, Singleton Birch and Symes Bains who have all supported the races by donating to Lindsey Lodge. There are eight compelling races to enjoy this afternoon, beginning with the DDM Juvenile Hurdle for three-year-old horses. Such races offer opportunities for young horses with little or no racecourse experience and it is always worth keeping an eye on any horse who performs well here, with Champion Chaser Altior and dual Grand National winner Tiger Roll both having begun their careers at Market Rasen. In our Lawn Enclosure, we have a host of fantastic entertainment for young racegoers, including the opportunity to meet ‘life-sized’ dinosaurs, enjoy a Jurassic treasure hunt, take part in socially-distanced kids' races and explore the fantastic ‘Neigh and Play Garden’. We are delighted to be able to welcome spectators back without restrictions on capacity, but we would ask all attendees this afternoon to read the advice later in this racecard which explains what we can all do to follow the current government guidance whilst on course. I wish all the horses and their connections the best of luck and hope that you all have a wonderful afternoon with us here at Market Rasen.

“For every horse that appears on a racecourse, there is a large group of individuals that have made it happen. They are not in the limelight, but they are totally dedicated to their work. When these people face difficulties in their lives, they need somewhere to turn, and Racing Welfare is there for each and every one of them.” - HRH The Princess Royal President of Racing Welfare

PLAY SMARTER
Cases can be made for many, but it could be worth siding with BOLT N BROWN, who ran creditably despite producing a typically lazy display when runner-up at Uttoxeter last week and can go a place better back up in trip here with the visor reapplied. Decoration of War keeps hitting the frame and he could provide the main threat, ahead of Czech Her Out and Southfield Torr.

PLAY SMARTER
BONTTAY is out of a bumper winner and should be well prepared by her shrewd yard for this initial racecourse experience, so she’s marginally preferred to Mourne Lass, who didn’t quite come up to expectations when third at Hexham on debut, but is obviously quite well regarded. Sister Sophie is the pick of the remainder.
