EVENING RACING
FRIDAY 18 JUNE 2021 Official Racecard £3
THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU Welcome back to the July Course. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the July Course this evening, our first fixture of the year here in this beautiful setting. We have seven races to enjoy, ranging in distance from five furlongs for the Anawilk Interiors Fillies’ Handicap, up to one-and-a-quarter miles for the Daylin Flavell Floral Design EBF Novice Stakes. We would like to extend our gratitude to the European Breeder’s Fund, who sponsor our sixth race and for whose support we are most thankful. We also extend our thanks to Al Basti Equiworld Dubai, for their sponsorship of our Owners’ and Trainers’ facility. While it is wonderful to welcome spectators back, albeit in limited numbers, we all have a role to play in preventing the spread of the virus. I therefore remind you of our customer code of conduct, the key points of which can be found on page 7. Despite all of the uncertainty that surrounds us, we very much hope that you can immerse yourself in the action on track and wish you a wonderful evening here at Newmarket. Best wishes, SOPHIE ABLE General Manager

Tough to rule out any of these but preference is for recent Haydock scorer WINK OF AN EYE. William Haggas’ charge proved a cut above his seven rivals last week and he can follow up under a penalty. Year of The Dragon was considerately handled last time and he’s feared most with improvement in the pipeline, ahead of Something Enticing and Pure Bubbles.

BABY ALYA was as big an eye-catcher as you’ll see when getting no luck on her handicap debut on the Rowley Mile 5 weeks ago, hampered on the inside but motoring by the finish. Her mark is unchanged and she can resume winning ways with more luck. Sir Mark Prescott’s Piselli Molli is an obvious threat after her Yarmouth triumph. Windsor-winner Epidemic is also clearly dangerous again.

Following an impressive return, COLOMBE found little having travelled best at Salisbury late last month but that’s best treated as a blip as she has the talent to prove much better than a mark of 69. Equine Anti-Doping
Dubai 2020 will be long remembered as the one of the most difficult years that our generation will have ever faced. Covid-19 has brought many challenges to everyday personal and business life. The Thoroughbred Racing Community across the globe have had to make many tough decisions to keep racing going albeit behind closed doors. As racecourses across the UK start to welcome a limited number of people back to their tracks, we would like to congratulate Sophie and her team at Newmarket Racecourse, The Home of British Racing, on their efforts and determination to bring back spectators. We know it isn’t the same as before but we look forward very much to returning to the track in numbers to enjoy the sport we all love. Good luck to all and stay safe.
