AFTERNOON RACING
SATURDAY 19 JUNE 2021 Official Racecard £3
THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU Welcome back to the July Course. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the July Course this afternoon, for what promises to be a competitive afternoon of racing in this beautiful setting. We have seven races to enjoy, including the 1m6f MansionBet’s Summer of Lovely Offers Handicap, which is a qualifier for the Jockey Club Grassroots Flat Stayers Final. The Jockey Club Grassroots Series aims to offer enhanced prize money for horses operating below the highest level and culminates on Finals Day at Nottingham on Wednesday 29th September. We would like to thank MansionBet for their generous sponsorship of all seven races on this afternoon’s card, and to the European Breeders Fund who support the MansionBet's Betstival Bet 10 Get 20 British EBF Novice Stakes. This race is also part of the Plus 10 Bonus scheme. We also extend our thanks to Al Basti Equiworld Dubai, for their sponsorship of our Owners’ and Trainers’ facility. While it is wonderful to welcome spectators back, albeit in limited numbers, we all have a role to play in preventing the spread of the virus. I therefore remind you of our customer code of conduct, the key points of which can be found on page 6. Though we all continue to deal with the uncertainty that surrounds us at present, we hope that the action on track can provide you with a welcome distraction and wish you a wonderful afternoon here at Newmarket. Best wishes, SOPHIE ABLE General Manager

PLAY SMARTER
CASTANA DIA made a taking return when scoring at Yarmouth last month and appears to have got in lightly for her handicap bow so is fancied to follow up here. Libertine Belle hasn’t looked back since the tongue strap went on and she rates a big threat despite going up 4lb for her Goodwood success. In-form Velocistar rates the pick of the remainder and a solid place prospect.

Dubai 2020 will be long remembered as the one of the most difficult years that our generation will have ever faced. Covid-19 has brought many challenges to everyday personal and business life. The Thoroughbred Racing Community across the globe have had to make many tough decisions to keep racing going albeit behind closed doors. As racecourses across the UK start to welcome a limited number of people back to their tracks, we would like to congratulate Sophie and her team at Newmarket Racecourse, The Home of British Racing, on their efforts and determination to bring back spectators. We know it isn’t the same as before but we look forward very much to returning to the track in numbers to enjoy the sport we all love. Good luck to all and stay safe.
