THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU Welcome back to the July Course. A warm welcome to Newmarket's July Course, we are delighted to have you with us for what is sure to be a competitive and informative afternoon of racing. Our thanks go to all of our sponsors, Black Type Accountancy, Alder Demain & Akers, Godolphin, The Family & Friends of Nooresh Juglall, Al Basti Equiworld and Omega Ingredients for their support of this afternoon's card. The excitement is already building with a fortnight until our marquee summer fixture here at the home of Flat racing, the Moët & Chandon July Festival, which begins on Thursday 8 July. Whilst the quality of racing on show this afternoon may be familiar, due to the ongoing restrictions the experience we are able to offer here at the July Course may be a little different to the last time you were with us. I would ask for your help and understanding as we look to provide a safe and enjoyable event for everyone who is attending today, by following the guidance set out around the racecourse and listening to our team on site who are here to assist you. Thank you for choosing to spend your day with us. I hope you have a fantastic afternoon and enjoy the great racing we have on offer. Best wishes, SOPHIE ABLE General ManagerWHAT’S ON SITE TODAY?

Having shaped with a good deal of promise on his handicap debut at York, DOCTOR PARNASSUS may well be the answer. He almost certainly has more to offer and the booking of James Doyle adds to his appeal. Handsome boasts a similar profile and is next on the list, though Spirit Mixer and the hat-trick seeking Glencora also command plenty of respect.

PLAY SMARTER

AKKERINGA gained his breakthrough win in some style at Doncaster earlier in the month and is impossible to oppose turned out under a 6lb penalty here. Operatic should strip sharper for her encouraging Goodwood return so is feared most with in-form Prince of Abington appealing as the pick of the remainder.

PLAY SMARTER

SUBTLE BEAUTY built on her 2-y-o promise when a close second at Newbury 2 weeks ago and the drop back to 7f could be in her favour given the speed she showed that day. She shades the vote over Malathaat, who was beaten only by the now-useful Air To Air on the Rowley Course last month. Shaikhena caught the eye at Newbury and remains with potential, along with her stablemate Sweet Enough.

Dubai 2020 will be long remembered as the one of the most difficult years that our generation will have ever faced. Covid-19 has brought many challenges to everyday personal and business life. The Thoroughbred Racing Community across the globe have had to make many tough decisions to keep racing going albeit behind closed doors. As racecourses across the UK start to welcome a limited number of people back to their tracks, we would like to congratulate Sophie and her team at Newmarket Racecourse, The Home of British Racing, on their efforts and determination to bring back spectators. We know it isn’t the same as before but we look forward very much to returning to the track in numbers to enjoy the sport we all love. Good luck to all and stay safe. PLAY SMARTER

Impossible to rule out any of these but it could pay to side with MICHAELS CHOICE, who hinted that his turn could be just around the corner when third at Windsor last month and is taken to open his account for the year here. Nibras Again went close for the third time in 2021 when runner-up at Nottingham last time and he may have to settle for silver again here, ahead of the consistent Araifjan.
