This is a two miles handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 56 to 75. Like most handicaps on the Flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that parGcular band. However, all handicaps sGpulate a minimum weight and no runner can carryless than that, irrespecGve of how low their raGng is. This is oùen described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.

PLAY SMARTER This could provide a good chance for STONIFIC to build on an encouraging reappearance run at York with the step back up to 2m likely to be very much in his favour. Contrebasse could be the one for the forecast spot if bouncing back to the form he showed when runner-up here on his penultimate outing.
