We are very pleased to welcome our owners with runners today, our annual badgeholders and all those of you who have purchased a ticket to come racing.
Our race meeting ten days ago saw the return of racegoers for the first time in 20 months, amounting to a crowd of just over 900 excluding the owners and essential participants. Prior to that meeting, our previous ten racedays across both the reduced 2020 season and the beginning of the 2021 season, had all been behind closed doors. Whilst it was great to have racing in that period, it makes such a difference having people back and supporting this terrific sport. Today our races are sponsored by MansionBet who are new to Salisbury for this year. We thank them for their kind support. On Friday we were pleased to see a former Salisbury winner, Pyledriver, win the Group 1 Coral Coronation Cup at Epsom for trainer William Muir – his first Group 1 success.
