THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
Welcome to Sandown Park for Ladies’ Day and the start of our Coral Summer Festival. Our afternoon begins with the Listed Coral Dragon Stakes, a five furlong charge for two-year-olds, which takes place on the straight in the centre of the course. At the other end of the distance spectrum, the stayers are the stars in our second Listed contest, the Coral Marathon over two miles. We have further Listed action on offer in the form of the Davies Insurance Services Gala Stakes, a race for horses aged three years old and upwards of just under ten furlongs. The concluding race on this afternoon’s card is the Coral Proud Supporter of British Racing Handicap, which is restricted to female amateur riders and is always a hugely popular event. Our thanks go to Coral, who are long-standing sponsors of this wonderful meeting and for whose support we are most grateful. We also extend our thanks to Davies Insurance, who sponsor two of this afternoon’s races, and to the European Breeders Fund, who continue to enhance prize money across the sport. While we all remain hopeful that restrictions will ease soon, we still have a collective role to play in controlling the spread of coronavirus and I therefore remind you of our customer Code of Conduct, the main points of which can be found on page 8. I hope that you have a wonderful afternoon here at Sandown Park and look forward to welcoming you back again soon. PHIL WHITE London Region Director for Jockey Club Racecourses

The fact that KABOO was sent off at 15/2 when making his debut in the Windsor Castle gives an indication as to how highly his connections rate him and, based on the way he shaped when sixth that day, his reputation may well be justified. PLAY SMARTER
JOHN LEEPER tends to take a bit of a grip so the drop back to 1 1/4m may help until he learns to settle better and he’s selected to make it 3 wins from only 5 career starts. Brigadier Gerard winner Euchen Glen is the obvious danger, although it will be fascinating to see how much strength in the betting there is behind Gloucestershire given his stable also houses the very smart 3-y-o Lone Eagle.
