THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
It is a great pleasure to welcome you all to Sandown Park for a six-race card this evening. Our second race, the Casumo Horse Racing & Sports Betting Nursery Handicap, is part of The Jockey Club Grassroots Flat Series. The series, comprising four categories, aims to offer additional prize money for horses operating below the highest level, culminating on Finals Day at Nottingham on Wednesday 29th September. Casumo are the sponsors of all of this evening's races and we would like to thank them for their generous support. We hope that they have a thoroughly enjoyable time with us. Part of the fun of an evening at Sandown Park is the food and drink and we have a number of outlets inside and outside the Grandstand for you to choose from. If you would like to enhance your experience, our Equus restaurant is open for walk-ins and offers a delicious à la carte menu with fantastic views across the course. We are delighted to be able to welcome spectators here without restrictions on capacity, but we would ask all attendees this evening to read the advice later in this racecard, which explains what we can all do to follow the current government guidance whilst on course. We wish all the horses and their connections the best of luck today and hope that you have a wonderful time with us here at Sandown Park. PHIL WHITE London Region Director for Jockey Club Racecourses

— Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet. — Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience. — Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

NEW MISSION certainly looks the part on paper being a 380,000 gns Dubawi colt out of a mare who has produced a 2-y-o winner, so a winning debut may well be on the cards. Out From Under is another very likely type, with El Bodegon perhaps the pick of those with experience.

PLAY SMARTER
Those at the top of the weights looks the ones to focus on, with VINO VICTRIX getting the vote to supplement his C&D victory earlier this month. Ray Dawson’s 3lb claim negates a good chunk of the 5lb rise and he should be in the mix again with that form working out particularly well. Praiano should make more of an impact upped in trip so he heads the dangers, ahead of Khaiz.

Roger Varian’s BASHOSH starts life in handicaps on a lenient-looking mark so this well-bred son of Dubawi is strongly fancied to make it 3-3 before going on to tackle better company.
