The trophy for this race will be presented to the winning owner after the race by Jane George. Tattersalls have generously given £200 to the racing groom responsible for the best turned out horse in this race and £200 to the racing groom responsible for the winning horse.

Ray Gilpin (1942-2015)

FOR THE TOP JOCKEY OF THE WELCOME TO YORKSHIRE EBOR FESTIVAL

This award remembers Ray Gilpin, a popular figure in both the Weighing Room & Press Room who sadly passed away in 2015. A proud welshman, you’ll notice the armband worn by the rider in front, is in scarlet. The colour of the scarf that Ray always wore to the races. Previous winners include Frankie Dettori and Oisin Murphy.
