CHAPTER 1 States of Consciousness

1

THE SECURITY CENTER

This is the consumer culture within your consciousness. It is very powerful and distracting. It preoccupies your mind with worries of food and shelter and what ever other personal securities you need (think you need). This programming dominates your consciousness with the idea of having enough from the earth so you feel secure. 2

THE SENSATION CENTER

This is the concern of finding happiness in life by providing your self with more and better sensations and activities. These include sex, food, music and many more. When one is always trying to better their sensations they get trapped in this never ending battle to do or get better thus becoming perhaps ungrateful for the smaller things. 3

THE POWER CENTER

This state of consciousness is created by a sense of concern of your place in hierarchy and leads to domination people, situations. This also involves increasing your prestige, wealth and pride through manipulation and control.

SURVIVAL Survival in the jungle meant we had to program, paranoia, fear, and anger. Survival in the world today means that we must have, love, compassion and oneness with everyone and everything around us.

5

These three centers are the dramas that cause suffering in life and the states of consciousness that we want to find and change or stop in like so we can reach a higher consciousness.

FREEING MYSELF 1. Freeing yourself from security, sensation, power addictions that make you forcefully control situations in life, and thus destroying the serenity and flow of things. 2. Being aware of how consciousness is dominated by addictions and how these change the world and people around you. 3. Welcome all opportunities that life throws you whether good or bad, this will make you aware to your programed reactions and liberate you from robot like emotional patterns.

6

7

BEING HERE AND NOW. 4. Remember you have everything you need to be happy here and now, unless you let your consciousness be dominated by you're demands and expectations based on the past or the future. 5. Responsibility for your own experiences. Your programming creates your actions. 6. Acceptance of this moment in time as a continuous experience of everything good & bad.

CHAPTER 2 Yoga & Meditation

11

ASANAS In yoga asanas are the poses and practices that have been given names such a mountain, fish or cobra. These names were not given lightly, as we can learn from them we can capture the spirit of the pose. Whether it describes a living creature or a part of the earth, with it we can deepen our understanding and inform our practice. One can go even further with the suggestion that the asana, by making us imitate the rootedness of a tree, helps us to transcend our human condition. Philosophy of yoga tells us of how asana's are bound up with the laws of the universe and in other ways they are dedicated to the service of god. There are three fundamental principles that lie at the heart of every asana. First we must feel grounded by establishing a conscious relationship with how and where gravity is acting on the body; then we bring our attention to the breath, which will settle us in our position and reinforce the connection with the ground. When these first two principles are applied together, the bond can begin to release and lengthen, which is the third principle of asana practice.

13

LOTUS FLOWER POSE “The unfurling petals of the lotus flower have long symbolized the experience of deep meditation in which the layers of consciousness peel open in the mind. Most of the innumerable pictures and sculptures of Buddha meditating show them in this classic sitting pose. If you can do it, it is the best way to sit for meditation, since the pose is so naturally rooted and stable that the spine has no choice but to lengthen upward away from this base. According to the esoteric teachings of Hatha Yoga, the aim of all yoga practice is to awaken the divine cosmic energy symbolized by the serpent, Kundalini, coiled dormant at the base of the spine, and to channel that energy up through the six chakras that lie along the susumna nadi, the central channels along the axis of the spine. When the awaked creative force reaches the seventh chakra at the crown of the head it is said to bring about a transformation of consciousness.

14

WAVE ASANA To bend your spine so far back that you meet the floor behind you without moving the ground under your heels is ultimate conclusion of standing poses. The bend allows gravity to flow into and through the spine working through all the energy to the head. As the upper body becomes light there is a beautiful wave in the body, and the body moves with the wave.

16

17

COBRA ASANA The starting position is very relaxing on your abdomen before and after cobra asana while you lay on your belly breathing! When practicing this pose the lower body is kept heavy and motionless. Breathe out when pushing up with hands, this then will allow you to lengthen the head, neck and upper back upward opening up the chest. This position was named after the cobra for its famous strike. When a cobra attacks it uses the strength in its body and coils to the ground to lift up and lean back to open up its hood over its pray. As you breath into this stretch you can make pray out of all negative thoughts.

19

DOG ASANA Just watch a dog getting up after it has been sleeping and give itself a stretch. It puts it front paws out in front, sticks its bottom in the air and lets its spine stretch out all the way between. This is a naturally and instinctive movement done with sheer awareness of breath and sensation. No wonder this creature, the dog, a humble friend and respected, loved soul was given the name for this asana.

21

WHEEL ASANA This asana strengthens the muscle of the abdomen and thighs. When on your journey you choice your direction, trust your gut, and walk. When in the wheel asana you almost take the shape of the wheel, breathe deeply as you hold this position.

CHAPTER 3 :Its All in the Mind Set

25

BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD: Only say what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others

26

27

Don't make assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others clearly to avoid misunderstandings.

29

Don't take anyting personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

S E L F - L O V E With self-love and self-respect life can be completely different. We can make life easy or we can make it difficult. The only one who suffers or enjoys the consequences is us. If we have children, and something happens to them then yes, we feel emotional pain. Sometimes we can get sick, and be cranky, why not? But it's not personal. We don't have to give our poison to anybody else.
