CR and other DR vs. "DDR 900�

CR (computed radiography) System CR systems use an imaging plate to capture x-ray images instead of a film cassette. After exposure, the imaging plate is placed in an imaging reader. The imaging reader reads the information on the plate and converts as a digital image. The information on the imaging plate is erased in the imaging reader. Therefore, the imaging plate is ready for the next exposure.

DR (direct digital radiography) System DR systems use an imaging sensor instead of films. The sensor converts images into digital, and the image is directly displayed on a monitor. DR does not use an imaging reader to scan the plate. The sensor can capture digital images again and again.
