INT While Studying Graphic Design and Illustration at Webster University I have been esxploring a wide varitety of mediums and ideas. What connects the different subjects of my together is an exploration of imagination, and a push to look beyond what is perceived as “normal” or “comfortable.” I am drawn to exploring dark and uncomfortable subject matter, but do so in an amusing way. Growing up, I enjoyed watching Saturday morning cartoons. The 30-minute animated episodes I watched stuck with me, and have inspired the oddball style of my more illustrative work. The offbeat 90’s cartoons of my

TRO childhood like Ren and Stimpy and Hey Arnold! got me interested in the relationship between abstracted versions of life vs. reality. Like a caricature, the drawing has less detail than taking a photo of yourself, but sometimes it can tell you more about subject personality and energy by what features the artist decides to emphasize. Edo Rosenblith is a St.Louis artist who creates dark satirical work that comments on topics both social, and political. Rosenblith tackles these topics with a grotesque humor that I take out admire and relate to in my own work and want to keep exploring.
