WEDDINGS IN MALTA
From Ireland
WITH LOVE We always knew this day would come and we are so glad we chose Malta as our wedding destination. Barry and I are childhood sweethearts and when he did get down on one knee on the beach in Malin Head, Co. Donegal one day, I knew in that moment that I wanted something different and romantic for this special day for us both. We decided that we wanted something intimate and not the norm. I have been asked so many times why I chose Malta. I had never been there before but had heard so many positive things about it. When we did go out to visit it and meet wedding planners, we knew immediately that we wanted it there. It mainly was due to a few reasons – the weather, the fact that the accommodation and restaurants are fabulous but so affordable, the

friendly and helpful people and most importantly the scenery is just breathtaking. So in April 2013, 150 guests travelled to Malta. People were genuinely so excited about the trip and were delighted of the opportunity to make it their holiday. I had chosen the services of Sarah Young to help me with the big day. I was always advised a wedding planner is a necessity
when organising a wedding abroad, I never realised how this was going to be the best advice I ever got for my wedding. We had a three day event. A prereception in the Hilton Hotel, followed by our wedding day and then we went on a boat trip the day after. On the day of the wedding we had our ceremony at Lapsi Chapel. My most vivid memory is arriving at the chapel in a vintage car with my Dad and hearing the most angelic choir.
In that moment I just knew it was going to be fantastic. Our reception was at a lovely Garden Villa and it was just one of the most stunning venues I could have wished for. I was in safe hands the whole way through the wedding preparations. There was rarely a week where Sarah and I were not in contact about something. I found a lady who believes that the success of an event lies in attention to detail - there was nothing she did not think of or have a back-up plan to. I work in Marketing, but in my whole life I have never met someone as energetic, efficient, organised, hard-working or passionate as she is about her job. No job was too big or small for Sarah – she even organised a salon on the day of the wedding for 35 of my wedding guests and co-ordinated appointments for their make-up and hair. The excitement was electric. If a bride is considering a destination wedding- I would say go for it! It is such a different experience and as your guests are on holiday they are in such good form that you are guaranteed they will have a good time. Also if Malta is somewhere you would consider (trust me it has it all!) I would not only recommend Sarah Young as a wedding planner but I would truly say you HAVE to contact Sarah Young. She will provide you with the most unforgettable experience of your life and you are in such safe hands. I wish I could do it all again!
