Our wedding day
“exceeded our expectations” In the afternoon Sarah organised a romantic horse carriage ride for all our guests through the ancient city of Mdina, since they had never visited Malta before. This was followed by dinner at an amazing venue, just metres from the sea’s edge, at a five-star hotel in which we accommodated all our guests.
Planning a wedding in Malta was no mean feat for Roel (Swiss) and his wife-to-be Yin (Chinese), but they were not to be disheartened. An internet search led them to wedding planner Sarah Young, who right away sent them an assortment of wonderful ideas. The decision to marry in Malta was settled after the couple fell in love with the islands during a visit in 2008, but they both admit that planning this wedding would have been virtually impossible without Sarah. “The guaranteed sunshine and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea put everyone in a perfect holiday mood, and the great venues are some of Malta’s advantages. Furthermore we were able to spend far more time with our guests, as many stayed on in Malta after the wedding,” they reminisce.
“Sarah tailored the wedding to our expectations – we didn’t even have the time to visit the venues beforehand, leaving all the work to Sarah and her team. From the very beginning we realised we were in safe hands, and the truth is we couldn’t have wished for more on our wedding day,” they share. The ceremony took place in a gorgeous palazzo, followed by a stand-up reception with champagne, canapés
"It was simply perfect, everything exceeded our expectations." and wedding cake on the upper floor terrace, overlooking the most spectacular garden.
“Our guests describe our wedding day as magical and the whole experience was exceptional! Truly the best day of our lives!”

Yin Li and her husband Roel Simons nostalgically revive their memories of their Maltese wedding held on 23 June this year.
“We surprised our guests with a big fireworks display at the end of our first dance, and the after-party kicked off immediately. All in all it was quite a challenging programme for one day, but Sarah and her team (Lisa, Julia and Rachael) made it possible for us to relax and enjoy the day,” they say.
