The perfect destination wedding “We married on 10 June 2013 in Lapsi Church, St Julian’s and hosted our reception at a lovely sea-view villa. We had an amazing time and so did our guests. A number of people contributed to making our day very special from the beauty team, Father Tony, the driver, singers, photographer, florist, guitarist, as well as the people from sea-view villa and Le Méridian Hotel (our residence in Malta) and, most importantly, Sarah and her team who were invaluable.
richard and carol o’sullivan, from london, recount their ‘special wedding’ in Malta. “Richard and I were friends for many years and our relationship flourished after an evening out with friends. We always knew we would be together and 16 months after our first date, Richard proposed in Richmond Park, London on 13 November 2011.
“My special moment from the day was hearing the angelic singers whilst entering the church on my father’s arm, and seeing my new husband-to-be standing at the altar. Richard felt the whole day was so special, however, one intimate moment that stood out in both our minds was prior to leaving the church in our car, when an old gentleman in the church who acts as the Sacristan waved and nodded to us, and at that moment we both smiled at him and began our new journey together. “It was our special day and we would have not wished to have been anywhere else but on the beautiful sunny island of Malta!”
“The wedding bells began, and the search was on for the perfect location. We both agreed we wanted a small Catholic wedding. We started researching weddings in Malta after a recommendation and contacted wedding planner Sarah Young, who proved very efficient and professional. We arranged to visit Malta and met with Sarah and her team, who showed us around various churches and venues. “We returned to London armed with information, smiles and warm hearts, knowing that we would return to Malta to marry. Once we had decided on Malta, we knew that Sarah Young would ensure our wedding day would be special. Her recommendations and organisational skills were second to none.
