he arrival of the ‘mini-moon’ follows the ‘staycation’ and the ‘nanobreak’ Many couples are opting to postpone their honeymoon in favour of a shorter weekend getaway to a destination relatively nearby – or a MiniMoon.
Mini-Moons are great for couples who may be extremely busy at work or want to take some time to save money for a lengthier, perhaps more exotic trip. Follow our Top Tips to make your Mini Moon Magical:
Travel Time
Usually a Mini-Moon lasts around three or four days, so don’t pick a destination that will take a day to drive too if you live in Cornwall for Example it may be a good idea to steer away from that Aberdeen break for now.
Pick the Right Destination
Just because this is a shorter trip, doesn’t mean you don’t have options. Would you prefer a spot with lots of activities or are you looking for a relaxing break? Make sure you and your other half are on the same page before booking.
Act like a Tourist
It can be fun to simply book a hotel room in the city where you live, and play tourist for a few days, visiting restaurants you’ve wanted to try and historic sites you’ve never seen. It will certainly save money and travel time, too! Use the money you save on some splurges Taking a mini-moon is far less expensive than a full honeymoon abroad, so allow yourself a splurge or two on your minimoon. Whether that means allow yourself to indulge a bit.

Ditch the Gadgets
Try your best to treat your mini-moon like a true vacation. Put away mobiles, laptops, tablets etc and use the time to unwind. You’ll likely need some time to chill and recuperate after your exciting wedding day!
