“My grandmother and her side of the family is from Hawaii. My grandfather passed away only a couple weeks before my wedding, who was supposed to walk me down the aisle, so we were actually technically already married because we got married at the hospital, but I really just wanted to honor my grandmother in that time because she was going through so much. By having a Hawaiian wedding, I wanted to celebrate her and our culture and the influence it has had on my family and our upbringing. Our ceremony had a native Hawaiian ukulele player, tropical florals, hula dancers and Hawaiian-inspired passed appetizers.”
