Ingredients: • Bhindi – 250 gm (medium sized) For stuffing: • Besan – 1 tbsp • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp • Red Chilli powder– ½ tsp • Coriander powder– ½ tsp • Salt – 1 pinch • Chat masala – ½ tsp • Tomato – 1 (fine chopped) • Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp • Lemon juice – 1/22 tsph • Refined oil – ½ cup •Coriander leaves – fine chopped Method: • Wash the Bhindi lentils and dry with kitchen towel. • Cut the top of bhindi and make half slit in the bhindi in the middle.

• Mix all the stuffing powder and fill it in the slit bhindi lentils. • Heat the oil in the non stick pan. • When the oil is hot, fry the stuffed bhindi lentils. • Retain the color of the bhindi, don’t fry too much. (You can shallow fry the bhindi as well) • Take out the bhindi and drain it in kitchen paper. • Reduce the oil in the pan and add chopped tomato, ginger garlic paste and salt and stir well. • Then add the fried bhindi and stir. • After about 5 mins remove from stove and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve. Kids and Eyes: What each parent ought to know!

Here are some eye problems that start when we are very young and can be missed during the school years. More importantly, these problems can be cured or controlled, if we find them and treat them early. “Weakness” in sight (Poor vision or Refractive error) An eye doctor should check the vision in both eyes and if there is some “weakness” or refractive error, should give glasses. “Lazy eye” (Amblyopia) This is a condition where one or both eyes are weak and cannot be completely corrected even after wearing glasses. Sometimes this happens when we do not notice that one or both eyes are weak and

as a result vision can be partially lost. Our binocular vision centres in the brain continues to develop until we are 7 - 8 years old, So Amblyopia has a chance of being corrected up to this age. Squint Have you ever seen a person who has both of his eyes looking in different directions? This condition is called “squint” or “crosseyes”. Squint is mainly a childhood problem and is usually curable if its treatment begins at the earliest. A child will never grow out of the squint; instead, the squinting eye will lose vision permanently. There are many causes of squint which an eye doctor will look for and treat accordingly.

Binocular Single Vision (why it is important) God has given us two eyes for a reason - to see things in 3 dimensions. This is possible by “binocular single vision” and it is when both our eyes work together equally to see things 3 dimensionally. When one eye is not functioning well due to refractive error, squint or amblyopia, we loose binocular single vision, which is very important if your child decides to pursue certain profession like ‘Pilot or Surgeon or Engineer’.
