The vast rocky plateau all around offers ample place to walk a bit, play around or just sit back and watch the scenery. .....Getting there: Drive on NH 4(Tumkur road) till Nelamangala circle, take the NH 48 to the left & go on to Kunigal (70kms). Here follow the road going left to Maddur for 10 kms to reach Santhe Mavathur. Take the road going right with a board indicating the hill temple, for 4 kms to the village where another indication & a path to right leads to the base. By bus it would be better to take an auto from Kunigal or reach Santhemavathur also by bus & walk up 4 kms. Food & water to be carried.

.....Sankreshwara Betta is yet another hill temple seemingly cut off from the outside world. Situated off the road between Kunigal and Maddur this hillock is in a silent serene surrounding and serves as an interesting weekend getaway from the city.
