7 Key Benefits of a School of Rock Music Education
Although most people don’t need scientific research to prove that music can bring us joy and lift our moods, there is a growing body of evidence that shows just how important music is for brain development and overall well-being.
1. Music helps people of all ages to bond with one another. Playing music in groups or bands fosters friendships, and creates a sense of community.
2. Teens use music to distinguish themselves from their parents, providing a safe and productive way for teens to own and grow their individual identities.
3. Music can have a positive impact on mental health by helping to reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of belonging.
4. Music can also help develop language and cognitive skills, and
improve memory and concentration.
5. Playing music builds confidence and self esteem for people of all ages
6. Music programs like those at School of Rock provide students with increased persistence and better memory function to superior abstract reasoning.
7. When people really listen and “feel the music,” it often strikes a chord within that resonates with their hearts, minds, and spirit. Nothing touches the soul quite like rock and roll music, because it expresses at times what we cannot express ourselves.
People of all ages can benefit from the helpful effects of music on the brain. School of Rock guides students to become performers who make music a major part of their artistic and intellectual lives.
