STYLE SWAP Shahrina Hashwani and Imara Hashwani
This week Team Weekend turned the tables of style around between sisters, Shahrina Hashwani and Imara Hashwani.

SHAHRINA’S STYLE:
SHAHRINA’S STYLE STATEMENT
I chose to wear a white top with voluminous sleeves and lilac detailing paired with classic fitted denims and floral printed fur loafers. Minimalistic with a pop of accessories like a funky clutch or trendy shoes is the way to go for me. I definitely prefer going for lighter and brighter colors as opposed to darker tones. White is my go to color; I feel there is something very bold about white! My style is all about my current state of mind. I can be comfortable in a tee and jeans with Toms or a gown with stilettos but it totally depends on what I’m feeling in the moment. One thing I love doing is experimenting with variations of lip colors. I am a sucker for compelling nail colors as they can completely change the entire dynamic of your look.
I’m a huge fan of all white, which is what I went for with Imara’s look. I went for a ruffled white top and paired it with a flirty, playful pair of pants. There’s something about an all-white ensemble that’s just classy and cool. To add the right amount of flair, I gave her an acrylic clutch with a pop of color that really adds a punch to her entire look. Since both my sister and I prefer clean minimalistic looks, I kept her accessories at a minimal, letting the clutch do the talking along with a watch, adding another pop with her bright mint nail color. Keeping in tune with the clean and bold factor I tied this look together with a pair of matte gold, peep-toe heels. My sister prefers a natural and voluminous look with her hair which is why I let it flow and finished with barely there make up, which emanated a sense of effortlessness in this formal look.

IMARA’S STYLE STATEMENT IMARA’S TAKE ON STYLING SHAHRINA
My sister loves wearing white so I had to go for a vibrant and structured, royal blue turtleneck top with flared sleeves for her formal look. Keeping in mind , I paired her top with black culottes. My sister loves pairing funky accessories together with her look so I went for nude studded heels just to add a little bit of flair to her look. And finished with a pop of color with her clutch. My sister and I share the same sentiment when it comes to make-up, so I went for a subtle look with a pink lip color that pops and let her hair do the talking with its natural volume.
Blue is my favourite color, so I went for a striped, colored button down shirt with more of a flowy cut to give it more of a dressier look which goes with my minimalist chic style philosophy. I paired the top with a pair of fitted white pants and finished with a pair of flats with just a hint of bling, making this a sleek style perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. In keeping with my contemporary style, I went for a natural look with my make-up with a nude toned lip color. I prefer my natural volume with my hair; not too straight or curly. I definitely prefer making more of a statement with my outfit than my accessories, so I went for a multi-colored bag and finished with an Hermes bracelet in my favourite blue and I’m done!

Which type of projects are your favorite and why? I love to do residential projects because in residential projects you have freedom to choose different styles and color palate. Furthermore, you get lots of to do with open spaces. You can have sufficient areas to treat them as kitchen gardens, lawns, vertical gardens.
How and why you get into design field? From my childhood, I always prefer to paint and draw a house instead of flowers or cartoons. Beautiful houses and interiors have always being my passion and center of attraction. So it won’t be wrong that I wanted to be in design field since my childhood.
What is your innovation in your designs? I experience different things like I am experiencing a new trend in the sustainable and green architecture and providing my clients with a totally new concept of Butterfly and Firefly Gardens. This is going to bring a phenomenal change in our society to bring back these beauties of atmosphere back in our lawns.
How would you describe your design style? How varied are your designs? My designs are sustainable and echo-friendly. They are very minimalist in approach. I love very smooth and sleek designs with straight lines and combination of fusion. For me less is more. My designs are always inspired by nature. I prefer to use eco-friendly materials to support and develop sustainable design approach.
Do you have a signature touch with your designs? My signature style is elegant yet comfortable. I believe that designs should be functional rather than only decorative. I like to manipulating colors and form to create timeless designs. I prefer to utilize a combination of lighting, colors, textures and materials. I do believe on the design philosophy on FengShui and uses of sustainable materials like limestone, sand and cement and hand woven fabrics. Moreover I am a true advocate of green environment and a follower of kitchen gardening, roof gardens and vertical green spaces.

What you love about being a designer? What is the inspiration for designs you create? The best thing about being a designer is you get a whole new canvas to draw. You get a chance with every new project to play with lots of colors, materials and designs. My source of inspiration is nature. Nature has created everything in a specific ratio and harmony. We should try to maintain that harmony in order to make ourselves and surroundings safe and sustain.
Is there any specific color and elements in Tayyaba’s designs? I love every color. In design styles I like fusion patterns. It is very interesting to mix old things into new and you get a whole innovative style and design. I am really inspired by the Mughal architecture. Their environment friendly designs and love with nature reflects in the architecture. Rich colors, splendor floral patterns and existences of nature present utter royalty and exquisiteness. What is the biggest hurdle you can face being a designer now a days? I think our lives have become much commercialized. We try to follow other lifestyle without thinking whether that
Where do you see yourself in near future? I want to establish a university for deprived girls with an aim to provide free education and professional trainings. Moreover, I want to establish Belleze as a significant platform for the youth to use their inner potential at its best and exhibit their flairin front of the world.
Tayyaba Hussain style is suitable for us or not. We cannot adoptwest’s styles blindly because there is so much difference in climate and functionality. I believe that design should be functional as well as decorative. Describe your design philosophy in 3 words? Affordable, minimalist and beautifully comfortable
What are your business objectives? I don’t want to restrict my brand to a specific class of people. I want Belleze to be in range of people from every walk of life. I want to represent a common man through my brand whether it’s interior designing or apparels. How you look after your brand being different from others? It is a common supposition that designers are only for elite class. I want to change this trend. I believe that successful designer is the one who caters every class. My designs whether they are interior designing or my clothing line it is for everyone and for every class. I cater people from every walk of life and this is the thing which gives me distinctiveness.
Tell us about your other activities you are doing for the betterment of society? Youth is the most influential strength of society. I am working for the development of youth under the banner of Youth Vision Foundation. We are arranging seminars and workshops to motivate them for becoming self-empowered. I believe that instead of finding jobs, everyone should recognize her strength and inner talent and work on the small projects. So that not only for her, but one can be a source of empowerment for others too. We also arrange short courses regarding interior designing for young girls who want to educate themselves but cannot because of lack of resources. We are providing them our Bellezehome platform to utilize their hidden talents. How you get an idea to work for the community? We are blessed enough that we got sufficient resources to flourish ourselves. We got much more means for education and carrier. But there are so many people who are deprived and less fortunate regarding education and carrier opportunities. This thing always disrupts me and provokes me to take some initiative. This care and feelings for others makes us human beings and superior. So it is our moral duty to share with others what we own.
What are your objectives of social cause? I have a vision to provide the right place to the deprived women of Pakistan and work for the awareness of the young girls. I am working for the capacity building of women. I am on a mission to establish an institution for the capacity building and up-bringing of women of Pakistan especially for the improvement in their household and professional work in the field of designing. It is a real task to understand and take actions in contradiction of them. This is the real accomplishment for us. Our all women faces barriers like Glass Ceiling and Sticky Floor, I am working with the help of our society to make our community helpful for young girls to achieve their dreams.
According to you, what is the best thing in your designs? My designs are very comfortable. The best things about them are, they are very easy to maintain. U will never get bored with them. They are much harmonized but at the same time very interesting and bright with a tint of hues and they are environment friendly.
Anything regarding your designs on which you are proud of? I believe the best design is the one who is sustainable in nature. Because it’s easy to make a design but to uphold it is a real task. My design are defensible and energy efficient. I am a strong admirer and follower of sustainable interior designing which is known as green interiors or echo friendly interiors. I love to use echo friendly materials, natural light, openings for fresh air, kitchen gardening, roof gardens and vertical landscape. And this is the best thing which I like about them.

I just want to confiscate this habit from me. What is happiness for you?
