Happy St. Patrick’s Day I hope I haven’t jinxed the great weather we’ve been experiencing so early in the season. But I unpacked my shorts today and used the box for sweatshirts and winter coats. This is the first time in a long time I’ve been able to drive to work with the windows down and my jacket in the back seat. Do I dare plan a Spring weekend getaway themed around the outdoors just this once? As usual, there are plenty of things to do , people to see, and places to go featured in this issue. But, alas, not all things to do are about fun, recreation and entertainment this month. You see, Spring also means Spring home improvement projects - or just plain ole’ Spring cleaning. For the most part, my bachelor pad will get a fresh new look by simply picking up and putting away all the clutter. Washing the dishes really helped the kitchen counter (and the dining room and the living room and the bedroom areas). But once my (ahem) clutter is out of the way and hidden, I do see a fresh coat of pain is in order. Then there is the broken lock on the bathroom door and the leaking faucet...I guess I do need to review the home improvement tips found on pages 6 and 7. Once I’m finished, then I’ll see you at all the fun things to do, places to go and people to see. And yes, seeing my pad all clean and fresh, I can honestly say that was actually fun, too.

Things to Do: Study Tuskegee Airmen WILMINGTON - On March 22 at 7 p.m., Anthony Gibbs will present Courage in the Skies: The Story of the Tuskegee Airmen at the Clinton County History Center. Through dramatic interpretation, Gibbs becomes a Tuskegee Airman, facing unique struggles at home and overseas.
