MCDADE - And YOU are invited to come and join in all the festivities planned on the weekends between March 2 - April 21 at Austin’s Sherwood Forest Faire.

In its 15th annual season, Sherwood broke attendance records each weekend of 2022 then continued the trend through 2023. Sherwood Forest Faire is a Medieval Festival based on the tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Band set in a 25-acre permanent village in the Lost Pines region of Bastrop County just 35 miles east of Austin.

Sherwood Forest Faire holds more than 100 permanent buildings, 170 artisans & merchants, and 150 shows per day. The 2024 Entertainment Line-up is on the website at www.SherwoodForestFaire.com and updated each week of the faire to show stages for performances. Visitors will see returning favorites, such as Sky King’s Falconry, the Washing Well Wenches, Judas & Magnolia Escape Artists, and the New Riders of the Golden Age full contact jousting.

In keeping with Austin’s spirit as the Live Music Capital of America, Sherwood hosts at least 10 live music acts each weekend including The Inheritance, Master Bones, The Bedlam Bards, and The Jackdaws. The final 3 weekends in April will see the return of pipes and drums bands The CRAIC and Tartanic.

Sherwood’s artisan marketplace is extraordinary. You can meet many of the 170 artisans making hand crafted items such as jewelry, hand blown glass, leather boots, medieval and renaissance clothing, fine art, swords, chainmail armor, wooden mugs, and more.

The Sherwood Players spin a tale of history and legend that changes each season. It is now the year of our Lord 1192 and King Richard the Lionheart and King Philippe of France are off on a holy crusade. Will the Queen Mother, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and the bold Robin Hood be able to keep the dastardly Prince John in check?

Sherwood Forest Faire is located 35 miles East of Austin on Highway 290 between McDade and Paige Texas. Daily admission is $24 + tax for adults and $14 + tax for ages 6-12. You can buy daily and season passes at https://www.SherwoodForestFaire.com/Tickets.
