down the track during the three minutes of total darkness. “We are excited to host fans and the community on what will be a truly historic and significant event with the solar eclipse,” said Kasey Coler, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park’s Vice President of Track Management & Operations. “The fact that Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and Hendricks County is situated for full coverage during the solar eclipse, is truly amazing and we look forward to celebrating with a free community event under the lights.” The event will include a 5K race the morning leading up
to the big astronomical event that requires registration and a fee. During the three hours of the partial and total eclipse, the track will host live music, food trucks, family activities and a beer garden and will pass out commemorative Race to the Eclipse glasses to the first 5,000 people in attendance, allowing them to look at the sun during the event.
