Pirates & Mermaids
BETHANY BEACH - Poseidon is the name of the Greek god of the sea, storms, and earthquakes. His name means “husband of the earth” or “lord of the earth”. He is also the brother of Zeus and Hades, and Hera. The Romans identified Poseidon with Neptune.
Come out to downtown Bethany Beach on May 24-26 to experience live sand sculpting, pirates and mermaids, island music, bubble magic, luau, Marina Science Camp and emergency meet and greet. It’s an adrenaline “can’t -miss” event.
On Friday night, starting at 7:30 p.m., say Aloha to summer with an enchanting journey through the Polynesian islands complete with pulsating drums, exotic dancers and a fire knife performance. See a revue of dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand. You’ll even learn how to dance the hula.
Then Saturday afternoon, from 1-5 p.m., get ready for the pirates to arrive. Captain Jack and his crew will descend upon the Bandstand Plaza and lure you into the Age of Piracy when the seas were full of adventure and rules were more like guidelines. See live sword demonstrations and learn about the ways of pirate life in exciting swashbuckling shows throughout the day.
