Pete Murray

Pete Murray started playing guitar at 22, but has since built a global career. His breakthrough came immediately with his first album Feeler (2003), a record with a surfer vibe that earned him the title The Australian Jack Johnson. Yet Murray feels just as comfortable in an electric band setting. He and his band will celebrate his 20th anniversary by going on a world tour, which they will kick off in the Netherlands. The political thread in Patricia Kaersenhout's work of art raises questions about the African Diaspora’s movements and its relation to feminism, sexuality, racism and the history of slavery. She considers her art practice to be a social one. With her projects she empowers (young) men and women of color and supports marginalized people. By revealing forgotten histories she tries to regain dignity and create transformative justice.

Het Nieuwe Domein en Filmhuis

De Domijnen (binnenkort Filmhuis ZICHT), organiseren in het kader van de expositie Mens & Maas een filmavond in Obbicht met de film Levende Rivier. Voorafgaand aan de filmvertoning Levende Rivier van Ruben Smit (die er op 2 juni ook bij is), kunnen bezoekers onder begeleiding van meester herborist Bianca Kruitz inspirerende wandelingen maken langs de maas, een demonstratie wolspinnen bijwonen, genieten van de culinaire versnaperingen van Schutterij Obbicht en is er uiteraard aandacht voor de huidige staat van de Maas. Het kan ondanks het lekkere weer in de avond afkoelen. Neem daarom je eigen strand- of campingstoeltje en een dekentje.

De band bestaat uit twee sets broers – Michael en Mark Lennon en hun neven Kipp en Pat Lennon – die zijn geboren en getogen in Venice Beach, Californië. Klassieke Venice hits als Think Again en The Family Tree zijn jaarlijks terug te vinden in de hoogste regionen van de Top 2000 en de band werd in Nederland beloond met onder meer een gouden album en een Edison voor Beste Internationale Artiest.
