BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Medjugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina

“Dear children! With joy I am with you also today and I call all of you, little children, pray, pray, pray so as to comprehend the love which I have for you. My love is stronger than evil, little children, therefore draw closer to God so as to feel my joy in God. Without God, little children, you do not have a future, you do not have hope or salvation; therefore leave evil and choose good. I am with you and, with you, I intercede before God for all of your needs. Thank you for having responded to my call. Our Blessed Mother has been giving a Message to the World every 25th day of the month since June 1981.

Healthy Tips From Dr. Fink

Eating Too Much Or Digesting Too Little? A Common Sense Approach To Healthy Digesting

by Dr. Charles Fink

FInk Chiropractic & Natural Health Improvement Center

Eating the best food or taking the best supplements in the world is expensive and in vain if they are not being digested. Many people do not realize the improvements they will get in their health by understanding what it means to digest. One very important aspect of digesting begins with enzymes. An enzyme is a substance within living cells which causes changes in other substances. In regards to food it changes it by breaking it down. They are vital to breaking apart food to get all the nutrients out of it. These vitamins and minerals then absorb into the bloodstream, from there they are carried to the individual cells in our body. Without enzymes present, food or nutrition will pass straight through you. Enzymes are the key to unlocking all of the nutrients from the food we eat. Enzymes are produced in the stomach and pancreas. However ill health and aging decrease the amount we have naturally. Anyone

who eats cooked food can improve their health by supplementing their diet with enzymes. Adding enzymes to every meal could add years to your life and life to your years. It can ensure you get your money’s worth out of your groceries, give you fewer, if any doctor bills, and give your body that much more stamina and energy. If you have heartburn or acid indigestion you should consider this: Turning off the acid in your stomach, whether it’s with a purple pill or an antacid, can lead to a myriad of other problems. Many people use these acid neutralizers to treat acid reflux, sour stomachs, gas/bloating and other digestive symptoms. However, many of these people are suffering from not enough stomach acid! The function of your stomach acid is to digest protein. When your stomach acid is “turned off”, you can’t digest well. Say someone eats a piece of chicken; it lands in the stomach, and needs hydrochloric acid to break it down. If there isn’t enough of that acid the protein sits in the stomach and starts to putrefy, creating acid and gases. Now, the person might have some symptoms – sour stomach, belching, or even acid reflux. But, it all happened because there wasn’t enough acid to digest properly. If there’s enough stomach acid, the upper sphincter closes when

you’ve eaten to prevent that good acid from going up into the esophagus. It also opens the lower sphincter to empty your stomach. If you don’t have enough acid, not only can you not digest the protein; the upper sphincter does not close causing acid reflux and potential damage to the esophagus. If you ache all over, have stiff joints and an overall lack of energy, maybe properly digesting your food is the answer. For help in choosing proper digestive aids and for information on this and more, call Dr. Fink @ Fink Chiropractic & Natural Health Improvement Center 603-524-4555 or check us out on the web www.finkchiro.net

“I have tried many different ways to get myself back to myself. I was tired, bloated, no energy, brain fog, just didn’t feel right. Then I saw Dr. Fink’s ad in the paper, which also listed everything I felt and thought, why not, what do I have to lose! So I decided to give him a try. It has been four weeks and I’m actually feeling myself again, now compared to years of not feeling good, this is awesome! I have energy; I think more clearly, all I can say is “thank you” Dr. Fink!” -S.B.

Your Health is in Your Hands by Dr. Graham Moneysmith, DC. Contributing Writer

In case you haven’t noticed the political world is heating up as both parties attempt to find the best candidate for the 2016 presidential election. You were probably aware of this if you experience any media, in any way, at any point. It is only September (with a whole year more to go), but it has been inescapable for months. The a d v e rt i si ng a nd campaigning is everywhere. Especially here in New Hampshire. The way we have instant access to such ridiculous amounts of information, makes our lives saturated with mud slinging, promises, and probably some truth stretching moments. Clearly, no matter which side of the party line you fall on two ongoing concerns are healthcare and the economy. These issues certainly don’t stand alone, and are in fact intrinsically linked together. Throw out your political party affiliation for a second, and really look at the problem. Healthcare spending is too much. Forbes.com reported in 2012 that our National Health care expenditure for that year was an expected 2.7 trillion…..trillion. That’s approximately 17% of our GDP! That is insane! What’s really crazy is that some of that expense is for the care of preventable disease. In May of 2012 the Wall Street Journal online posted a study from the state of California. The study looked at the California Public Employees Retirement System. This health program spent $1.6 billion in 2008 and

22.4% of that was spent on “avoidable, chronic illnesses”. Obviously, this is a small sample size. Yet, if this trend were to hold true throughout our country, imagine the economic implications for us if we could avoid preventable disease more often. We are talking about major savings and major money. The fact is, many chronic diseases are very preventable. Some of the most common preventable diseases are diabetes, cancer, stroke, heart disease, and lung disease. That’s not to say, that in some cases, these diseases occur and were unpreventable. That can happen. It does mean, however, all your risk of these issues can be improved with certain lifestyle choices. As it stands now, I’m sure you want to be healthy (who doesn’t?), but it actually goes deeper that that. Our country is very unhealthy and it is damaging not just our bodies, but our economy and future. It is important for us all to get as healthy as possible for our own sake and for the well-being of our country. Here are some easy ways to potentially decrease your risks of the common preventable diseases: 1) Stop smoking: shouldn’t this be obvious now? Save money and save your health. 2) Lose weight: this can help with your risk of heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, and stroke. Simply put, we all need to move daily and focus on eating more fruits/veggies and less processed food. 3) Decrease stress: exercise, journal each day, and daily prayer/mediation have all been thought to help with stress, which is a factor in depression, hypertension, and even heart disease. 4) Visit you chiropractor: Chiropractic is not a treatment of those preventable diseases. However, a common com-

plaint I hear in our offices when first meeting someone is that back pain prevents them from daily exercise. Movement helps control weight, decrease stress, and decreases depression. Low back pain also, according to many sources, costs us 100 billion annually. 5) Drink more water: I think most people are dehydrated. Your body doesn’t run well like this. Try drinking at least 64 ounces daily and, depending on your activity level or your size, you may need more. Our country will make some big decisions in next year’s election. No matter which way the vote goes, one thing in regard to our healthcare and the economy will remain true: real change will only come from all of us, as individuals making healthy choices and truly improving our healthcare system and our economy.

OZZIE Some types of creatures enjoy being part of a current trend, or a breed humans want. So true of one of the more exotic and some would say ‘in touch with their wild side’ cats; the gorgeous and very different Bengal cat, who look very much like a smaller version of a leopard in your home.

Those spots are fabulous to be hold, and indeed the personality of the Bengal is very different from your regular house cat. Enter now the stately and handsome OZZIE, quite the most stunning cat currently calling New Hampshire Humane Society home. He’d rather be the only cat in the household such is the size of his felineness. He’d enjoy the highest points in your home, perfect vantage points to observe his kingdom. At the same time he loves to cuddle and enjoys the company of humans, savvy, feline friendly ones who can provide intelligent, exciting play and keep his lordship company as he demands. Oh what a truly spectacular cat he is. Anyone should be proud to share their home with him – giving him pride of place, of course! Ozzie is the final cat to enjoy our special adoption promotion during the month of September - a portion of his adoption fee will be offset by funds received from Emily’s Wish.
