1. Two squares are created-one as civil plaza, one as the extension of the Harlem Art Garden across the street. Two-storey volumes are placed and a diagnal path passes through in the middle connecting the two squares. 2. A small volume is added in the small square. A promenade is used to connect the two volumes. 3. Arcs are used to define the edges of several large windows.

4.A circular hole is punched through the promenade to let sky light in. The first storey is set back to highlight the main entrances. 5.The roofs above the hall and kids' play area are curved. A skylight is used to let more skylight in. 6.The roof above the hall s covered with solar panels. Another part of the roof is planted with plants to reduce carbon emissions.
