Butter 2 slices of the bread and cut into ½-inch cubes. Set aside for later. Cut the remaining bread into 1-inch cubes. Place ½ of these cubes into the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Combine the chicken, chopped veggies, mayonnaise, and seasonings, mixing well. Spoon ½ of this mixture over the
Cover with the rest of the unbuttered bread cubes and then layer on the remaining chicken mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Mix the milk, beaten eggs, and soup in a small bowl, combining well. Pour this over the top of the casserole, and place the buttered bread cubes on top. Cover and chill for one hour.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and bake the casserole for 50 minutes.
