It’s all very well stealing from the rich to give to the poor, but when you have no sense of direction then mayhem ensues! Robin Hood is lost in Sherwood Forest. It’s not his fault; there are after all a lot of trees. But once again it falls to Maid Marian to save the day and get him and the Merry Men out of a scrape. They may wear the tights, but Marian certainly wears the trousers! 01904 623568

arry and his family are looking forward to a great ahead! They already have a plan for all the fun activities they want to do!

-------

First on Harry’s list is a visit to Brodsworth Hall and . Harry loves live music, so he can’t wait to watch some of Yorkshire’s best brass bands. He’s looking forward to joining in with the music and his mum can’t wait to relax and have a family picnic. Harry’s sister, Henrietta, wants to visit the Victorian Gymkhana and meet some of the ponies. Dad wants to catch the amazing Victorian falconry show. If there’s time Harry wants to visit the Hands on History experience. Harry loves a spot of gardening and the Garden Explorers event offers loads of garden-themed fun, including ,dressing up, bug hunting and a garden trail. Wow so much to do!

------------

The whole family agree that Rievaulx Abbey sounds super interesting too. Apparently the resident monk will tell stories and teach young visitors skills in the Sword School.

-------

Henrietta is really into and at the top of her list for the summer is a visit to Scarborough Castle. Henrietta has heard that there will be dressing up and craft activities. Harry has challenged her to a sword fight! Boys! The Roman Scarborough event means Harry can have a go at Roman soldier chariot racing! The Scarborough at War event means Henrietta can find out all about the 1914 bombardment of the castle. She’s heard there’s even an interactive WWI and WWII zone. A-mazing! (And no swords!) One place the whole family can’t wait to visit is Whitby Abbey! Harry loves the story of and his dad has read the story to them. Harry has heard that there is an amazing live performance of Dracula, which will really bring the story to life (especially because the actors will be surrounded by the Gothic remains of the Abbey). Scary!

-------

----

Once they’ve had and chips, Harry wants to see the Hands on History Seafarers event. The whole family want to hear tales from life at sea and learn all about Captain James Cook, Harry’s favourite explorer! Harry and his family think they’ll be pretty tired after all of the amazing activities they have got planned, but what better way to finish the summer off than a trip to the Magical Travelling ! The big top tent will be pitched by Whitby Abbey, and both Harry and Henrietta are determined to pick up some circus skills from the amazing performers.

------

---------

Harry can’t imagine a more exciting place to live than and the whole family are looking forward to making more memories in their fun-filled, jam-packed summer ahead!
