THURSDAY 3RD OCTOBER DRAMA MASTERCLASS WITH TIM PRITCHETT Afternoon, Old Gym We are delighted to offer an hour-long Masterclass with Tim Pritchett, focussing on1-1 tuition for monologues/small scenes. TUESDAY 8TH OCTOBER VOCAL MASTERCLASS WITH GILES UNDERWOOD 1:30pm, Concert Room We are delighted to be offering a masterclass opportunity with distinguished Vocal singer, Giles Underwood. Giles currently holds the post of Vocal Studies Lecturer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He specialises in Baroque and Contemporary Music and has performed on stage as Count Almaviva (Le Nozze Di Figaro), Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia) and Marcello (La Bohème). This is a great opportunity for young singers with a passion for performing. We hope you will join us.

TUESDAY 15TH OCTOBER VIOLIN MASTERCLASS WITH REMUS AZOITEI 10:30am - 5:30pm, Lewis Room We are delighted to be offering one to one Masterclasses with distinguished musician, Remus Azoitei. In 2001, Remus was appointed violin professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, becoming the youngest ever violin professor in history of this institution. He is the Artistic Director of the Enescu Society in London, also being one of its founding members. He lives in London, and performs on a violin made my Niccolo Gagliano in1735, from the Royal Academy of Music’s Collection.


FRIDAY 8TH NOVEMBER MASTERCLASS WITH HARRY THE PIANO 2:30pm, Concert Room We are delighted to be offering a masterclass opportunity with pianist extraordinaire, Harry the Piano. Harry will pass on his expertise in this afternoon workshop. There is also the opportunity to showcase the solos and duets worked on in the masterclass in the evenings’ concert. This Concert is the equivalent of a piano recital, though even Harry can’t say what he will play as it is whatever comes into his and the audiences’ minds on the night! Harry seamlessly weaves together melodies from across his encyclopaedic knowledge of piano repertoire, exploring the relationship between well-known classical music and popular ballads - or indeed any style of the audience’s choosing!

THURSDAY 14TH NOVEMBER HORN MASTERCLASS WITH NICHOLAS KORTH 2:30pm, Concert Room Nicholas Korth, Co-Principal Horn of the BBC Symphony Orchestra is one of the country’s most renowned performers and horn teachers. Also wellknown as a composer, Nicholas will be giving a masterclass to the horn and brass students at Wellington College


THURSDAY 14TH NOVEMBER HARMONICS OF THE HORN: PHYSICS OF BRASS PLAYING 5pm, Concert Room Nicholas Korth, co - Principal Horn of the BBC Symphony Orchestra will be delivering a lecture on the nature of harmonics in composition. Exploriong the physics behind how the instruments in the orchestra work. This will be fascinating for budding composers, brass players and young scientists alike.

ARTS CAREERS EVENING 6pm, Old Gym Wellington College warmly welcomes students, staff and our teaching partner schools to a creative careers evening in the Old Gym. Hosting a wide range of representatives from creative industries, students will have the opportunity to seek career pathways on offer.

Life drawing is essential for building observational recording skills, understanding the human form and translating visual information to practical outcome. Students will practice figure drawing from a live model, studying the human form in various positions and experimenting with a range of traditional and experimental techniques. Drawing exercises and material introductions will be taught to build confidence, however students have the freedom to work independently across all sessions. Essential for any individuals looking to pursue Creative Arts courses at a Higher level. Welcome to Artsfull, our brochure introducing Arts events at Wellington College which aim to teach, inspire and enrich your understanding of the Arts. Each term we will be providing opportunities for students to have short lessons/workshops with inspiring artists. Book early if you wish to be involved. Each term there will be events, shows and concerts either put on by students at Wellington or by other schools or professionals. Whatever is on, you will be most welcome. NO BOUNDARIES - ART EXHIBITION All Day, Culural Living Room A celebration of work by our most recent A-Level textile students. This is an opportunity to access and explore both the designs, toiles and final outcomes by some of our most talented students.

INSPIRED - ART EXHIBITION All Day, V&A Café A collection of work created by members of our 3rd Form during the Art Department’s Inspire Morning last year. We simply can’t wait to see where their creativity will take them.

MEDEA THE MUSICAL 7:30pm, GW Annenberg

Mother or monster? Innocent or guilty? Based on the Ancient Greek play, Medea the Musical is the modern story of a family torn apart by betrayal, revenge and murder where all morality and cosmos turns into chaos - but who’s really to blame? Written and Directed by student Hayley Canham

REFLECTION - ART EXHIBITION All Day, V&A Café A chance to look back and reflect on a selection of work by our past GCSE cohort of students. This is a chance to see work from a range of disciplines including ceramics and painting, print and photography.


FRIDAY 11TH OCTOBER

HOUSE DANCE FINAL 7:30pm, GW Annenberg This year’s house dance asks pupils to be inspired by the world of musicals. Each house selects a musical from a prescribed list, before working together to create fun, creative and exciting choreographies to share with each other. House dance is a brilliant opportunity for houses to come together across year groups with a shared goal, to be House Dance Winners 2019! It is sure to be a fun and lively evening.

JUNIOR CONCERT 6:15pm, Old Gym The Junior Concert provides an opportunity to hear music from the first few year groups of the school, performing both solo items and in ensembles.

MOZART’S REQUIEM 8pm, GW Annenberg

Tickets £12

Mozart’s glorious final composition is performed in the GW Annenberg with combined choirs of Wellington and Crowthorne Choral Society and professional orchestra. The concert features The Heavens are Telling -by Haydn, Trumpet Concerto, Movement II & III by Hummel and Requiem by Mozart.


20-21ST NOVEMBER OUR COUNTRY’S GOOD 7:30pm, Christopher Lee Theatre Senior Play. Australia 1789. Ralph Clark, a young married lieutenant is directing rehearsals of the first play ever to be staged in that country. With only two copies of the text, a cast of convicts, and one leading lady who may be about to be hanged, conditions are hardly ideal.“Rarely has the redemptive, transcendental power of theatre been argued with such eloquence and passion.” Georgina Brown, Independent.

TUESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER MIDWINTER SOUNDS 9pm, Cultural Living Room Come and join us for an evening of Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and R&B.

4-5TH DECEMBER ANNUAL DANCE SHOW 7:30pm, GW Annenberg This year’s dance show explores culture from 2000 to today, inspired by news, arts, popular culture and politics. We will whisk you all back to 1999 where it all began and take you on a journey filled with beautiful, moving, fun, acrobatic and inspiring dances performed by a range of Wellington pupils and Eagle House. Definitely not one to be missed!


WellyFringeFest 17TH - 18TH OCTOBER

Wellington College

A Series of Multiple Arts events taking place around the college. Featuring students and external artists. From performances in a shed to plays in classrooms, this will be a unique couple of days stretching the boundaries of performance.
