What’s on THE WELLINGTON COMMUNITY PROGRAMME MICHAELMAS TERM 2019
#WeAreWellington
Welcome Welcome to the Michaelmas term Wellington Community events programme.
I am pleased to bring you our 10th What’s On brochure! As we enter our fourth year of the Wellington Community programme, I want to thank all of you who have supported, attended and volunteered to take part in our events. We are very lucky to have such an inspirational community here at Wellington College. To those of you joining us for the first time, I wish you a very warm welcome and I look forward to meeting you at an event soon. We have lots coming up for you this term. Our career events continue to grow, and we hope all our pupils will make the most of what is on offer to them. Very little of what we do would be possible without parents, OWs and former parents offering their time and advice to our pupils and young OWs. Our Career Opportunity Groups this term include Insurance, Finance, Marketing, Events, PR and Communications. Please do come along if you work in or are interested in, these fields. They are informal and a perfect opportunity to meet with others in the industry and pass on a little advice to those just starting out. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved at College, whatever your interest may be. This term our fantastic art department teaching staff are hosting Parent Art Masterclasses, our Head of Maths Aiden Sprout is back with his Magic of Maths programme, Simon Williamson and the music department are whipping the parent choir into shape ready for their performance in the end of year concert, and Lucy Atherton is leading our
book club through a journey of fiction. We hope you will find something to enjoy. Although at the time of writing Christmas seems such a long way off but it will as always come round quickly and we will be ready with our very popular Wreath Making event in December, and the OW Ice Skating at Somerset House which is becoming a favourite in the holiday calendar. Looking to the rest of the year do keep an eye out for details of the increasingly oversubscribed Parent Call My Bluff Wine Evening in Lent, a parent trip to Moscow, and what will no doubt be the event of the year, the Parent Summer Ball 2020! There is also plenty in store for OWs including reunions and university gatherings. Do check the Save-The-Dates at the back of the programme for what else is coming up for you We hope you enjoy reading the 2019 Michaelmas What’s On programme and I hope to meet you at one of our events over the course of the term. Murray Murray Lindo, Director of the Wellington Community and Development
