REGULAR PROGRAMMES johnsonville library at the waitohi hub Tūhura hive - the hive

Tūhura HIVE is our new makerspace located inside the new Johnsonville Library at the Waitohi Community Hub. Giving our customers the oportunity to play with new technology and creative tools Tūhura HIVE offers 3D printing, VR expiriences, sewing machines, laser cut, a compact music studio and so much more. Code Club level 1

Code Club Level 1 is a free coding club for children at the beginning of their coding journey. Students will work their way through a range of fun coding projects supported by coding experts. Registrations are required. Recommended for coders aged 9 - 13.

Tinker Time

Come to the HIVE after storytime for these hands-on sessions for little makers. From simple crafts and messy play to fun robots and more, there will be something different to delight your little ones at each session. Recommended for ages 2 - 5 with their caregivers.

Code Club level 2

Code Club Level 2 is a free coding club for children who have some coding experience under their belts. Students will select stimulating projects to work through supported by coding experts. Registrations are required. Recommended for coders aged 9 - 13.

HIVE 101: Cut & Etch

Come along to the HIVE and work on your own ideas and projects, focussing on laser cutting, etching, and papercrafts. These sessions are self-guided, but staff will be on hand to assist if needed. Suitable for ages 14 - 140. Children with supervising adults welcome.
