WELL DONE! Pain by DeLane Phillips

Pain by DeLane Phillips

We love

We hate

Our pain

We hold onto it

Try and rid ourselves of

Pain

Take it with us

Run from

Pain

Like an obnoxious party guest

We wish they hadn’t showed up

But we can’t imagine the party without them

Pain

Some of us feed it

And some of us smoke it

Serve it up in endless works for approval

We shoot it up and snort it

Drink it down in pretty glasses

Medicate

try and

eradicate

Deny

Ignore

And yes, some even whore for

Pain

We kill to rid our pain.

But at the end of the day

We lie down and sleep with

And wake to

it’s endless cycle

Pain.
