Year 10 What will I learn? Year 10 pupils do not have timetabled PSHE lessons. However each term they attend a talk or workshop on a relevant topic such as alcohol and drugs, sexual relationships or mental health. These topics will be supported through the tutor programme. What skills will I develop? The diverse range of topics and speakers will help develop your listening skills as well as informing you on a wide range of thought provoking subjects. What equipment will I need? You will be provided with any equipment that you need.

The Epiphany and Lent terms will move on to explore sexual health and safety in intimate relationships, including contraception, before considering mental health and healthy coping strategies for the upcoming exam season. Talks from visiting speakers will support the work done and topics explored during timetabled lessons. What skills will I develop? You will learn how to recognise the features of healthy relationships, how to keep yourselves and others safe, and how to utilise healthy coping strategies in challenging situations. This will include risk management skills and basic first aid. You will also develop your teamwork and communication skills as well as an ability to discuss ideas on a range of often sensitive topics.

Year 11 What will I learn? All pupils in Year 11 will have a fortnightly PSHE lesson. The Michaelmas and Advent terms will be spent exploring the features of positive, healthy relationships,

What examinations will I take? You will not be examined on the content of this course. What equipment will I need? No specialist equipment will be required.
