Open all year round and offering wraparound care from 8.00am until 6.00pm, we provide ourselves in the diverse, busy and enriching activities offered. Our team aims to provide an excellent foundation for life from the very beginning, and our caring staff endeavour to know each child individually and prioritise their emotional wellbeing, working hard to ensure a gentle induction into our nursery. Use of our online learning
journal, Tapestry, allows us to share magic moments with parents and carers, giving you an insight into your child’s individual learning journey at our beautiful school. Our Duckling Class, where we accept children from age two, feeds into our Cygnet Class which the children join in their pre-school year. When the time comes for our children to move to our Robin Class (Reception), they are confident and school ready.
Young children live in the moment; their minds are fascinating, and it takes incredible practitioners to be able to see things through the eyes of the child and grasp a learning opportunity as it arises. Every moment counts here at Wells. The opportunities available to the children are simply a ‘spark’ in curiosity that we aim to ignite to help them grow into their best selves. We pride ourselves in our ability to allow the children to lead the learning. We use a ‘Planning In The Moment’ approach to lead our provision, underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Beyond the play-based provision in the classroom, we have Forest School in our beautiful grounds and specialist input from our Prep School teachers in Music, Drama, Dance and Games/PE. Our curriculum, putting creativity at the heart of all we do, has been awarded on multiple occasions for its impact on our young learners. Most recently, we were awarded Pre-Prep of the Year (Commended) in the Independent School of the Year Awards.
