Designed to make a statement on interior walls, the new Gallery Collection from Gainsborough is comprised of ‘Wool Camlet’, a luxurious plain fabric available in bold feature colours, as well as calm complementary neutrals. Camlet’s name derives from the tabby woven camel hair cloth, sourced from the Middle East, that became a prominent feature of the Suffolk weaving industry in the 18th century.
The collection also offers two trimming designs, Heritage Braid and Derby Braid. Created by Heritage Trimmings especially for Gainsborough, both are designed to emphasise the fabric’s natural beauty, each available in 10 complementary colourways.
Gainsborough and Heritage Trimmings share a common ethos in their approach to UK-based craftsmanship and the promotion of artisanal skills.
FABRICS
WOOL CAMLET
‘Camlet’, derived from the tabby woven camel hair cloth from the Middle East, was coined for the woolen cloth on which Suffolk’s wealth was founded in the 18th century.
