PAD Printing Service We offer a full colour Pad Printing service which includes the company logo printed on the front of the hard hat. This can be used for identification purposes within a company or as a safety measure. Please ask for full details as there is usually a minimum order quantity which must be fulfilled. CE Test criteria and standards High Visibility Workwear BS EN 471: Protection against low-visibility hazards. Grouped into three classes based on the minimum quantities of fluorescent background and retro-reflective materials to be used. This allows the garments to be worn as an item of PPE (personal protective equipment). Each Class gives the wearer a greater level of conspicuity when seen by the driver of a moving vehicle in both day and night time conditions. Class 1 - Lowest protection level, where enhanced visibility is an advantage but for minimal risk/ off road purposes only. Bands of reflective material shall not be less than 50mm wide. Minimum background material 0.14m2. Minimum retroreflective material 0.10m2. Class 2 - Intermediate protection level, where enhanced visibility is essential for medium risk environments. Risk Assessment According to the Health & Safety Regulation 1981 and the 1997 Revised Approved Code of Practice, an employer shall provide, or ensure that there are provided, such equipment and facilities which are adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for enabling first aid to be rendered to employees if they are injured or become ill in the workplace. The Approved Code of Practice recommends that employers carry out Regular Risk Assessments of the workplace. They must also provide adequate first aid materials and suitably trained and experienced first aiders to meet the risk. Even when employees are working outside or away from the workplace, employers must provide them with a suitable first aid kit.

The Need for Back-up Stock The HSE Approved Code of Practice also states the contents of first aid containers should be re-stocked as soon as possible after use. Sufficient supplies should be held in a back-up stock on site. Care should be taken to discard items safely after the expiry date has passed.

Hand Hygiene Guidelines What is proper hand hygiene? Proper hand hygiene is accomplished through either hand washing with soap and water or using a hand sanitizer, and by conditioning your skin with moisturisers. How do I properly wash my hands? 1. Wet your hands under warm running water. 2. Use enough soap to thoroughly wash your hands, rubbing your hands together vigorously to make a soapy lather. Lather for 10 to 15 seconds. Be sure to wash the front and backs of your hands as well as between your fingers and under your nails. 3. Rinse your hands thoroughly. 4. Dry your hands completely with a clean paper towel. Use the paper towel to turn off the tap. 5. To help prevent dryness and chapping, use a moisturizing lotion on your hands. Even tiny cracks in the skin can harbor germs and leave you vulnerable to infection and illness. When should I use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer? Alcohol based hand sanitizers should be used after and in between normal hand washing, when hands are not visibly soiled, or when no water and soap are available. How do I use Hand Sanitizers? Place enough product in your palm to thoroughly cover your hands. Be sure to sanitise the front and backs of your hands as well as between your fingers and under your nails. Rub hands together briskly until dry. No rinsing required. No towels needed.
