The design focused on providing a healthy, happy place for customers and employees to coincide the store products and specialty items to the retail store inspired by Chicago’s Architecture.
CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
Providing a healthy atmosphere was accomplished using durable, sustainable products like terrazzo, linoleum, felt, and brick on the exterior. The cash wrap is next to the specialty room at the store’s back, between the stockroom and the keyed bathroom.
The employees could work efficiently, welcome any clients, and monitor the store floor. All of these will be part of the loss prevention. The flexible cable suspended acoustical elements like FELT suspended ceiling, and acoustical light fixtures that will reduce sound and is also a wayfinding.

MERCHANDISE
“The front-to-back placement of merchandise within a department or thought the entire store is strategically executed. Feature presentations are close to the main isles and highly visible. Secondary locations are often between featured items. Focal locations are distributed thought the store, anchoring their respective zones. Hight-demand items are often place in the back regions of the store to serve as magnets”. The Interior Plan, Second Edition, Robert J Rengel”
MOVEMENT
“Two of the most important goals of retail environment are to attract shoppers inside and make it easy for them to move thought the store. Strategically located focal point attract potential buyers and entice them to move towards the back of the store. A transition zone inside the entrance allows shoppers to scrutinize the store before committing to proceed all the way in”. The Interior Plan, Second Edition, Robert J Rengel”

Modeling
“The Revit model is a virtual version of the building design. The model describes not only the geometry of the model elements, but also capture the design intent and logical relationship between the elements in the models. You can think of the 2D model views – plans, sections, elevations, and so on – as slices of the model. Changes made to one view are instantly visile in all the other views of the model, keeping the views in sync at all times. The 3D model is used to create the 2D views that make up the printed documents set.”
Schedules
“When you change the properties of buildings components in the model, the associated schedule is updated automatically.”
“For example, you would select a door in the model and change its manufacturer property. The door schedule would reflect the change to the manufacturer’s property.”

LIGHTING DESIGN CLASS PROJECT
Layered Lighting
Layered Lighting utilizes multiple light Sources, each with its own purpose. This gives the users of the space the flexibility of selecting and adjusting the lighting for each specific activity. “
“Ambient Lighting is sometimes referred to as general lighting, and is design to provide uniform lighting in a space. Ambient light ing allows people to work safety thought a space by reducing sharp contrast between light sources. “
“Task Lighting provides quality lighting for specific activities. Task Lighting is a direct form of lighting that enables users to see the critical details of an activity.”
“Accent (or Focal) Lighting exemplifies the art of lighting by creating drama, variety , interest, and excitement in an interior.” Fundamental of Lighting, 3rd Edition, Susan M. Winchip.
