A huge Thank You to all the community of Wendover who generously supported our outdoor Pop Up Sale that was held on 30 October (see photo).

We sold a selection of handmade crafts, Christmas decorations, homemade cakes, gifts and held a raffle. We were overwhelmed by the support received from so many passersby and we made new friends too.

Fortunately this sale was held before the second lockdown. It gave us the opportunity to raise funds for the house and to let it be known that Abbeyfield is part of the Wendover community. People might like to know that we have a room available if needed, if anyone is looking for supported living accommodation or companionship. The sale raised over £500.00 and a donation will be sent to RAF Families Association. Please keep your eye out on social media for future events.

Once again many many thanks from all at Abbeyfield, Dobbins Lane.

Mansion Hill Closure

See also page 10. Right in the middle of the second Coronavirus lockdown, without any public consultation, the MOD closed the car park at Mansion Hill. Albeit that we are being urged to improve our Wellbeing by walking and cycling the much used car park was taken out of public use. The car park was valued because it accessed so many walks in Wendover Woods and it’s too far for many dog walkers to reach the woods on a daily basis, on foot. I have requested officers at County Hall to speak to the RAF and see if a compromise can be reached, by keeping the entrance road free of parked cars and asking the public to be considerate. What a shame that the MOD has not consulted us before taking action, as we try hard to accommodate their needs in the life of our community!
