Chiltern Way Academy Wendover campus is proud to share the news that Head of English Shelby Camman has received a certificate of commendation. This came after a nomination for the Pearson ‘Teacher of the year’ award.

Chiltern Way Academy Head of English, Shelby Camman

Shelby came to us from Canada 3 years ago with a particular desire to work with special needs students. We are very proud of our link with Queens University Ontario which continues to supply us with very high-quality staff. Our bespoke training of these new teachers has helped provide outstanding quality teaching for all our students.

Shelby has been one of our biggest successes from the link with Queens University. After a promotion this year to Head of English she now develops the curriculum to support students across all our schools. Well done Shelby!

Wendover military children take part in charity workshop

Military children from Wendover C of E Junior School took part in a free virtual workshop run by the charity Little Troopers in June.

As part of a nationwide virtual roadshow being delivered by the charity throughout June, children who have parents currently serving in the British Armed Forces logged in together to explore some of the unique challenges they might experience such as having a parent deployed overseas and regularly having to move home and school.

All of the workshop activities were from the charity’s dedicated Little Troopers at School programme, which was created by education experts to give all schools easily accessible resources to support military children in the classroom.
