The Aylesbury Road site was first offered to Wendover Baptists because their building from 1649 was in need of refurbishment. Instead, Father Arnold Sloots bought it for a Roman Catholic Church in the mid-1950s. The Foundation Stone was laid in May 1961 but lockdown prevented a proper celebration last year. Instead, an anniversary garden was laid out for use by the community of Wendover.
Schools World Book Day at CWA
Chiltern Way Academy Wendover Campus celebrated World Book Day in style. Staff and students came dressed as some of their favourite book characters. Students in year 7 and 8 also got to participate in a book scavenger hunt around campus. Keeping reading alive is one of our main goals, and this day is always the perfect time to showcase our love for reading. Students have already been overheard planning their book character costumes for next year. Reading is an essential skill that opens so many doors for students, and allows them to excel in all subject areas.
