The charm of Chongqing lies in the grand manner of the "mountain city". Here are a myriad of tall buildings, overpasses, river-crossing bridges and tunnels. All the city buildings are built along the hillsides. Chongqing has commercial centers on both sides of the Yangtze River, and cable cars complement the system of bridges. Chongqing's subway is different from other cities, it is running in the sky, so it also called light rail.

Dujiangyan has rich culture of water since ancient times, and is known to the world for its world tangible culture heritage, the water conservation project. This design aims to integrate the culture of water and the diverse history of the city into the site to create an access for the visitors to know about Dujiangyan’s water control history and culture, and to provide local citizens with a city square for their daily entertainment.

T h e t ra ff i c at t h e e nt ra n c e o f the subway station is relatively complicated, so certain space is needed for traffic dispersion.

The entrance of the underground passage way is often occupied by people, and since there would be a large altitude difference between the underground passage and the ground, the aesthetics should be taken into consideration while dealing with the altitude difference.

There are two squares around with unified style, and both have obvious geometry form, so this place should coordinate with surround conditions.

Two sides of this place goes by the river and has good views, so it would be a good idea to set up a pro-water slow lane and a quiet resting space, which also meet the traffic demands.

Inside the square is a flat space with a view of the mountain and the Yulei Tower not far away, and it faces the sunken plaza across the street, the central axis can be used as fast track to satisfy the traffic demand.

The south and north side of the square are city main roads and the main source of human traffic, thus enough entrance spaces are needed to satisfy the traffic demands, meanwhile, the entrance landscape need to conform to the environment.

RENDERING

Date: 2017.03 - 2017.05 Site Area: 4.38 ha Type: Academic Teamwork Collaborator: Xiaoshuang Guo Role in Team: Team Leader, Concept Design, Analysis Diagram, Master Plan, Perspective Location: Dongzhai Harbor, City of Haikou, Hainan Province, China Tutor: Shijie Zhang As an important ecological resource in our country, Mangrove Nature Reserve in Dongzhai Port has huge ecological value and ecotourism development value. In order to reflect the characteristics of mangrove forest and the effect of science popularization base, we put forward the concept of "rooted" -- Mangroves "take root" in the coastline, the protection of awareness "take root" in people's minds, the idea of harmonious development between man and nature "take root" in our social ideology. Through the investigation and application of marina mangrove plant, the design extract the morphological elements of mangrove plants and create the regional and ecological landscapes that accord with the mangrove habitats and artistic features. At the same time, through the landscape design and popular science to enhance people's awareness and protection of mangroves awareness, so that more people can understand the value of mangroves and their growth environment and growth process to promote mangrove ecological restoration and protection work.

Mangrove forest is the bush fallow woody plants grow in intertidal zone in tropics and subtropics coast, they are immersed by sea water during flood tide and exposed when tide falls. Often, the exposure duration would be longer than submerge duration. They are called mangrove because they are made up mostly by plants from mangrove family. The mangroves are ecological transition areas between lands and marine, the special ecological environment has given them both the feature of inland and marine ecosystems.

Begonia Urban Park was built in 1981. It is situated on the south side of the first grade road Begonia Road, just in the riverside of Laixi River. Locals are so attached to spend their leisure time here. The current facilities and amenities will gradually be far from enough to satisfy communities' demands as time gose on. Therefore, this project aims to redesign the park as a multifunctional place where people will find peace, comfort and nature, based on different sectors, such as the culture and history, current situation and demand.
