Laynut Tours These founs are for

Look for yellow railroad crossing signs in front ofthe layout owners, homes.
Layout Tour Etiquette Refresher: 1. Use common sense. "Think belore you act' is, by far, the most important
thing. 2, Never pick up someone else's model. Any model on the layout may have fragile details that could be damaged if mishandled. lf you see a hain derail or separate, notify the owner or someone operating the layout as quickly as possible. They will either correct the situation or ask you to; then and only then you may do so. 3. Never lean on or over someone's layout with or without scenery. When carrying children, do not to hold them over the layout; dangling feet can do more damage than a Texas tornado. Also, leaning over the layouh can make you lose your balance. 4. Don't touch, scratch, feel, move anything, or reach over the layout. Loose arlicles of clothing orjewelry have been known to 'catch" scenery and/or derail trains. lf you are really curious about anything, simply ask the host. 5. Don't'nit-pick." Everyone is entitled to their own artistic creativity, even if it is not yours. Some may historically model a raikoad and others may make up their own. Don't be so quick to point out a 'better way" of doing something. You may f nd it has been tried with failing or "less than
satisfactory' results. 6. Don't expect the host to open early or stay open late. 7. Don't dominate the host's time while you are there. Other people may have questions or comments too. The same applies to the best vlewing
or photo spot - let everyone have a turn and enjoy the laput. 8. Never smoke in someone's layout room or home. lf the host or owner isn't smoking, don't ask for permission. Respect the host's property, both inside and outside of the home. 9. Thank the host (and their spouse!) when you leave, for allowing you into their homes. Do sign their guest book, if one's provided. 10. Be patient. Layouts may be crowded because everybody loves trains. 11. lf you are bringing someone with you that isn't familiar with the rules
of etiquette, take some time and go over them together You will do everybody a real big favor '12. Have fun! We love our layouts and hope you will enjoy them as well.
This is a wonderful hobby, meant to be shared, and it is intended to be lots offun! (bffiomd trom he Lore St4 R6gion'srebsite, m.lonestarsgion.com)

"Table Top Modulet" Dror Cannon This is a 2-part clinic. Part 1 (open to everyone at no cost) is a Pouterpoint describing T-Trak modules and ho,r, to build them, Learn about this new modular concept usable in all scales. T-Trak modules are REALLY small (think "a sheet of paper' in N Scale) and therefore easy to build, complete, and make great test beds for new techniques. TT modules are a highly-portable way to share model raikoading at friends' homes, hospitals, churches, etc. with only a few minutes of set up time for an entire layout. ln Part 2 you will actually build your own T-Trak module in your favorite scale. Pre-registration required for Pa( 2, including your preferred scale. Cost covers
module materials and track. Drew has been active in NTRAK modular raikoading at both the local and national levels for over 20 years. He has built many modules, including several T-Trak modules in N and HO
scals.

Regional recognitions will be arrarded and contest winners announced. The evening will conclude with a Ghinese auction. Each banquet purchase includes one raffle ticket, and additional raffle tickeb will be available for purchase during the Convention: $5 for one, or $20 for a booklet offive. "ln a Chinese auction, bidders are not prospective buyers (as in the conventional English auction). lnstead, they buy tickets, which are essentially chances to win items. Bidders may buy as many tickets as they like, and bid them on any item(s)they want by placing them in a basket or other container in front of the item(s) they are trying to win. At the conclusion of bidding, the winning ticket is drawn
from the tickeb bid on each item, and the item is given to the owner of that ticket. "A bidder may increase their chance ofwinning by buying and
bidding more tickets on a specific item. Although there is generally no limit to the number of tickets a given individual may bid on a specific item, the chance ofwinning depends on the total number of tickets bid by all individuals.' (description from Wikipedia.org)
