For this project, I have engaged in an active rediscovery and rescue of abandoned photographs, using snapshots taken by anonymous strangers as main medium for my work. All of the curated photographs were either rejected or lost by their original owners, eventually relegated to flea markets, where I have collected over a thousand photos of other people’s lives. Having so many images, I started noticing patterns emerging within some of them. I began categorising, thinking about the numerous ways in which I could intertwine them. The groupings emphasise the common uniformity of the way we take pictures and document our lives, the sociological patterns and habits of family photography. This album is a record and a testament of everyday photography.
