THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE One of the biggest trends that spread recently like fire on social media is the Ice Bucket Challenge. The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on someone’s head to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and encourage donations to research. It went viral on social media during July–August 2014. In the US, many people participate for the ALS Association, and in the UK, many people participate for the Motor Neurone Disease Association although some individuals have opted to donate their money from the Ice Bucket Challenge to other organizations. The challenge encourages nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads, and then nominating others to do the same. A common stipulation is that nominated participants have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation. The trend spread from the West to the Arab World, and we have watched many videos of celebrities taking the challenge and donating; however, on the other side, a lot of associations condemned the behaviour accusing it of triviality and some went to the extreme that wasting this amount of pure water in vain is a crime in itself that requires raising awareness about. Regardless of the disease that the movement’s
money is devoted to and weathers it’s considered a priority to donate to in our Arab World or not, the brilliant attempt to catch people’s attention and make a noble cause out of a trend is something worth praising. It is like when the marketing experts who think out of the box all the time of an innovative way on how to put their hands in our pockets for buying disposable products that most of the time we don’t even need, this movement is a depiction of how marketing and promoting things when directed for charity can make wonders and help in raising millions in a blink of an eye. Actually, this movement reminds me of how Egyptians were able to collect 6 billion Egyptian pounds in couple of days for something they believe in as the Suez Canal project, and though it’s not a donation as the money will get back to them with 12% interest. It’s still interesting to have the whole nation gather around a national project, and collect such a huge amount of money in a country that is considered a developed country and suffers from economical crisis. We should learn from both the Ice Bucket Challenge and Suez Canal project that when people believe in a cause, and when the subject is tackled properly and presented in an attractive or convincing way it makes people gather around it. Hope we can use a trick like the Ice Bucket Challenge in Egypt for supporting many noble causes that Egypt needs in the coming phase.

Things You Should Know About
CHEATING
MORE WOMEN THINK INFIDELITY IS WRONG
A survery has shown that a majority of men and women both said that infidelity when married is always wrong — but more women agree. At least 78 per cent of men think cheating is never okay when you’re hitched, while 84 per cent of women share that sentiment.
Men Are More Likely To Have Cheated
In the US, approximately 25 per cent of husbands and 15 per cent of wives have had sex with someone else while married. However, the fact that people are not necessarily eager to admit that they’ve been unfaithful, even anonymously, those numbers could be higher in reality.
Women Are More Likely To Cheat Now Than They Used To
More women are committing adultery today than reported doing so in the past. A 2010 survey by the National Opinion Research Center found that women are 40 per cent more likely to cheat today than they were 20 years ago. Some researchers think this is because more of them are in the workforce, and because more women today have jobs that require them to travel.
CHEATING ISN’T NECESSARILY ABOUT SEX
When researching his book The Truth About Cheating, marriage counsellor M. Gary Neuman found that 92 per cent of men said that their infidelity wasn’t about sex. The men said that their reasons for cheating were often emotional, such as feeling disconnected from or under-appreciated by their spouses.
IT’S ALSO NOT NECESSARILY ABOUT LOOKS
A research indicated that 88 per cent of men who cheated didn’t do so with someone more attractive than or fitter than their wives. But, people who are perceived as more attractive, whether it’s because they have looks, money, education, or power, are overall more likely to cheat.
CHEATERS RARELY TELL
Fifty-five per cent of the men in a study either lied when presented with evidence of their infidelity, or just didn’t tell their wives it had happened.
LOUNGE 30
MOST MEN DIDN’T HATE THEIR MARRIAGES
In one survey, 54 per cent of men who had cheated said that before the affair, they thought their marriage wasn’t bad — or was even good. Just 34 per cent of women who had cheated felt the same. The study, published in the Journal of Marriage and Family in 2008, found that those who defined their marriages as “not too happy” were three times more likely to cheat than those who said their marriages were “very happy,” and even people whose marriages they described as “pretty happy” were twice as likely to cheat as the “very happy” respondents. Another study found that half of women said their marriages had problems before an affair occurred, while only a third of men felt the same way.
BOTH GENDERS EXPERIENCE GUILT
One study found that both men and women feel guilty about infidelity, but not for the same reasons. Men feel guiltier following sexual infidelity, the researchers found, while women feel worse about an emotional betrayal, such as falling in love with someone else.
MEN ARE MORE FORGIVING
A study from the University of Texas found that 50 per cent of men said they’d forgive their female partner if she cheated with a woman, but only 22 per cent would forgive if she cheated with a man. Women felt differently: 21 per cent said they’d forgive if their male partner was unfaithful with a man, but 28 would forgive an affair with a woman. The researchers indicated that the difference may be because many men find female-on-female sex to be erotic, and because a woman’s affair with another woman can’t result in pregnancy.

heating in committed relationships is more common than most of us would like to believe. Many reseraches have been done on both men and women who cheat, the reasons behind their cheating, the factors conributing, and who are likely to cheat more; men or women. SHUTDOWN m
otherhood is a bliss, but also full of challenges, this month mom Youmna Gad shares with us her diaries on the dilemma with breastfeeding and how she over comes it… I am the kind of a mom who doesn’t breastfeed; my boobs are fully capable of doing the job. There is no debate that breastfeeding is the best living experience one can enjoy, the bond it creates, the idea of that little creature’s whole life, and nutrition only revolving around you is overwhelming, but I didn’t live that. I was left with no choice but formula when the pediatrician of my first child Selim told me “that boy is not gaining enough weight, he needs formula.” I remember that day I cried a lot, I felt I was doing something wrong and I told him “no I will try harder to breastfeed him,” but my breast milk was never sufficient, leaving him always hungry and screaming. Eventually, I gave up and shifted to formula, I lived with that guilt for almost a year and half until I decided to let go. With my second pregnancy I was determined to breastfeed, no more pressure; I will learn from my mistakes and give it a shot, but again breastfeeding was a failure for my daughter, too little milk for my baby girl left her weak and hungry all the time. This time I went to some extremes, done more researches, went to a lactation specialist, and took irrelevant medications only to have the side effect of increasing milk amount, but again nothing worked. I would wake
up every morning with a plan, hope and prayers that I can do it, and again failure to breastfeed chases me. I was so depressed, and having that guilty feeling all the time was so exhausting; what if I am missing something? I had every reason in the book to feel guilty, she is my daughter, I want the best for her, and with all the topics about how “breastfeeding is the best for your child” haunting me –the formula tin itself says so- I was left in severe sense of guilt. What made matters worse was people’s comments, elder and young females commenting on why I don’t breastfeed, you could hear annoying comments like “it can’t be, every woman can breastfeed,” and “you must have taken the easy way,” or “you didn’t try long enough.” I wish only if I had the courage to tell each one of them “SHUT UP.” They couldn’t get how that topic in particular was hurting me already, they will never understand how it hurts to look in the mirror and see these breasts not doing their job. When people start making assumptions and judgments about your choices is when you either move on or live with guilt, and I lived with guilt, these comments usually left me with doubt whether I am a good mother or not. I would question myself if I am trying hard enough until the day I was told by my gynecologist that some women can’t breastfeed, some do
have problems and I do have a problem, he told me forget about that guilt trip and move on, and that’s when I decided to move on; after all I was not taking the easy way out. Comments do hurt when people judge and we can relate it to everything around us, a new bride who didn’t get pregnant on the spot, an unmarried girl, people do get these comments. Why do we have to judge, comment and hurt others without getting the whole full image? I was not given a choice to breastfeed, some may have the same story but succeed, I was not given the privilege to choose which way to pick, most women do, some choose formula and some choose to breastfeed, I believe I was forced to pick a certain choice. I look back and I thank myself for going to extremes just to know how strong I am, how I tried so hard to offer the best for my kids, I didn’t fail, I like to believe it was not only meant to be, and above all I could see how much I love my kids and how much I wish the best for them. I am a good mother, or at least I am trying to be and that’s what actually counts, motherhood road is not a paved easy one; its so complicated and to see that strong part in me makes me feel proud; I am Proud. Just like every mama should be.. PROUD.
A PARENTAL TIP A new gift idea to get while going for a baby shower: a breastfeeding pillow; nothing is more aching than a breastfeeding mama’s neck. The pillow will give the mum full support to breastfeed in comfy way.

THE HARDEST DECISION YOU HAVE
EVER TAKEN
? SARA SAMIR
After a huge fire accident that burnt my home down, I was afraid to go back again but I decided to face my fear.
HAYA BORHAM
I’m an over thinker, so all decisions are tough for me. But, the hardest one will have to be where and how to start when it comes to achieving my dreams. I know what I’m passionate about, yet I feel lost; most of the time, and that feeling scares me. But, I have to force myself to face obstacles on my own way without hesitation amidst that fear.
RANIA SAMIR
I was hesitant to choose between training in London and attending my graduation ceremony, but I chose traveling to London as it was a great opportunity.
MOHAMED RAAFAT
My hardest decision was to leave the Italian residence and my current job, which gave me a lot of experience to work in Qatar airways.

As I’m a very hesitant person making decisions may not be the best thing that I can do, so it could be a hassle to me to decide which pair of shoes to get, or if I should eat pizza or burger. But, when I gave myself the time to think about this question, I found that I made a couple of hard decisions in the past year: the first one is choosing a department in Faculty of Engineering, which is not considered as the best department in the university. The other one is deciding to start working while I was in the middle of my final exams, and I did not regret any of these decisions.
MANAL SALAMA
The hardest decision I’ve ever taken is deciding to work as a flight attendant, leaving my memories behind and living far from friends and family so I start my dream job that I’ve always dreamt of.
MARYAM OSAMA
Until now I hadn’t taken any tough decisions; I see everything as a part of my life.
SAMA YOUSSEF
I tend to think hard before taking any decisions in my life because I’m a very hesitant person. Yet, I think my hardest decision is choosing my faculty major, which is quite difficult.

fter her absence from the silver screen for years, Tunisian actress Hend Sabry returns back with vengeance to cinema with a sequel to one of her most successful movies ‘El Gezira’ along with Ahmed El Saka. Amira Tharwat sat with the mother of two and Goodwill Ambassador in an upclose and personal interview about her Ramadan hit ‘Embratoryet Meen,’ fashion and politics.
First off, we would like to congratulate you for the success of your TV hit ‘Embratoryet Meen;’ however, we want to know how the idea of the series came to reality? I had the idea of the series in mind so, I decided to share it with the producer of my previous TV series ‘Ayza Atgawez.’ When he expressed his fascination with it, we decided to call Ghada Abdel Aa’l, the writer of the former series, to write the script of ‘Embratoryet Meen.’ We wanted to discuss Arab civilians’ delusion on the heels of the Arab Spring, believing that revolutions will eradicate all forms of corruption and social injustice, transforming their homelands to an Eden on earth. People believed that democracy, justice and morals will finally prevail; however, what happened was totally the contrary as these horrible scenes of the remnant age remained the same and negativities increased.
What was your comment when you were accused of aspersing Egypt? I don’t know why people criticize every new work that addresses a certain issue in our society. Why do we have to bury our head in the sand like an ostrich and hide our negativities instead of discussing them in order to find a solution for these dilemmas? They can criticize me whenever they want; yet, do you find your community much better than before? Don’t they see any kind of defects that pervaded our community in the past two years? I really have no idea how I humiliated Egypt, the characters in ‘Embratoryet Meen’ are definitely devoted to their country; they want to see their country beautiful and developed, yet, circumstances go in contrast to their actual aspirations and so, they decide to take the step looking for the simplest solution, which is “start with yourself.” Is this an act of humiliation? I don’t think so.

cover story
What was your favourite TV series in Ramadan this year? and what was the character you wished to impersonate? There was a slew of powerfully interesting TV dramas last Ramadan including, Adel Emam’s Saheb Al Saa’ada, Segn El Nesa, A’ad Tanazoli and many other hits for promising young stars. This year’s drama witnessed a heated competition and I was really fascinated by some characters, but I can’t decide on one for my fellow actresses mastered their roles brilliantly. Why were you excited to star in ‘El Gezira 2?’ I consider ‘El Gezira’ as one of the most important films of my cinematic career. The first installment garnered a huge success across Egyptian and Arab film theatres when it was screened on TV. The cast of the film was excited to reunite again, especially that our characters in the film held a lot of complex details; each character has its own history and can evolve into a new dramatic context. My excitement has widely grown when I read the well-written script, by Mohamed, khaled and Shereen Diab. What is the reason behind the postponement of the film’s release? It wasn’t postponed, we wrapped up shooting and the film is slated to be released during Al-Adha feast season. There was a long preparation period before the shooting. Also, shooting was interrupted by a long hiatus for production issues. Moreover, director Sherif Arafa was waiting certain days in the year to commence principal shooting. Some believe that a second installment of the film might be a double-edged weapon. Do you agree with this idea? Actually, it is a double-edged weapon yet, world cinema has taught us that lucrative blockbusters can generate sequels that can prove to be a great success. In our case, some sequels achieved huge success, surpassing the first installments. And, as I told you before, the new sequel of ‘El Gezira’ bears a lot of surprises for its characters can evolve into a new dramatic context. What was the biggest challenge that you faced as an actress, a Goodwill Ambassador, a wife and a mother? Throughout my life, I faced many challenges including, time management, which is a key to anyone’s success. My busy schedule forces me to strictly manage time so that my work won’t affect my personal life or vice versa.
LOUNGE 38
This is why I try to do my best as an actress, help the needy as a Goodwill Ambassador, without affecting my role as a mother taking care of my daughters as well. Who is your favourite Arab and foreign fashion designers? Zuhair Murad and Alexander McQueen What is your favourite perfume? Carolina Herrera Chic Did you watch the viral videos of ice bucket challenge? Do you encourage this modern craze to donate for this human cause? Who hasn’t watched it? Of course, I watched
it and I was happy that many people participated in this challenge. I also believe that if the aim behind this “modern craze” is a noble cause to collect donations for the sick then, I totally encourage it. What is your opinion about the recent political turmoil in the Arab region? Do you blame the Arab Spring for it? The recent situation in most Arab countries is very complicated, but I can’t blame it on the Arab Spring, for revolutions broke out against tyranny, injustice and corruption. We should take pride in what we did; our only problem is that a group of people stole our

revolution, taking its slogan to deceive us. For this reason, we witnessed a phase of social instability, a thing that people didn’t pass easily. However, I totally believe that change is about to come where democracy and justice will pervade. I can already see traces of that change in some Arab countries; yet, we need to work on ourselves and diminish our false beliefs towards others and our countries. When positivity and change reign, we will only need rulers, who can value their people to catch the train of progress and development. A recent photo of you, spending your summer vacation with husband and fellow actor Ahmed El Saka, was published. Who are your best friends from show
business? El Saka is a brother and a friend of my husband and I. Of course, I have a lot of friends in the show business and I remain in good terms with everyone. Do you think that social media has destroyed the artists’ privacy or added to it? I believe that social media has added a lot to us, for an artist before couldn’t mingle with his/her fans. We didn’t know their opinions or impressions about us and our works. Yet, now social media represent a direct link with fans where you can learn from their comments and impressions your success or failure. You can also see what they expect from us and what they don’t like about us. Currently,
everyone is using the internet through which we can evaluate our actual success. Would you encourage your daughters to enter the world of arts? I don’t know. My daughters are still young and I don’t know their inclinations or what they really want to be in their future life. Where will you spend Al Adha holidays? I didn’t plan anything yet. I’ll tell you the name of the place as soon as my husband and I decide where we’re going. What is your next project? I will return to the Tunisian silver screen soon with a film titled ‘Zahrat Halab’ with Tunisian director Reda Bahy. Shooting will commence soon.

en Affleck sits down for an interview about his work in ’Gone Girl,’ in which he stars as Nick Dunne, a former journalist who becomes the prime suspect when his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) goes missing.
When did you first become aware of Gone Girl? The book was a hot property in Hollywood. Everyone was reading it. As you know, Hollywood is the kind of place where there’s one thing and everyone is talking about it, until there’s the next thing. And this was that. When I heard about it, I read it and really liked it. I thought, ‘God, this would be hard to make into a movie.’ Then I put it down and I didn’t think about it really until I got a call saying, ‘David Fincher wants to meet you about Gone Girl.’ I was actually going to direct another movie, but the chance to work with David Fincher was a dream come true. So I put off my other movie I was directing and Warner’s was very accommodating.
LOUNGE 40
I got the chance to do this, which was an amazing thing: for somebody to walk in and hand you a dream on a platter. It was a thrill. What were your first thoughts both on the character of Nick and also just the story in general? I knew that it was going to be a deceptively hard part to play because of the way that audiences’ perspective on the character had to be delicately calibrated. The idea being that you can change what you think about this guy as the story goes along. Neither David nor I wanted to do it in a way that wasn’t realistic, or wasn’t dramatic. So we had to fine tune little things. Those are the things that in some ways are hardest to do. Because they’ve got to all be kind of convincing…
‘Oh, maybe he did it…’ ‘Maybe he didn’t do it…’ That sort of thing. And if you don’t have that question in the audience’s mind, the movie isn’t going to work as well. The two main characters, Amy and Nick, have both lost their jobs and moved out of the city. The careers that defined them have sort of evaporated in the modern world. Is that something the film explores at all? I think it does. I think it’s explored as background; the idea of the middle class alienation. It’s sort of the erosion of the bottom end of the middle class. The sort of slow disillusionment that comes with recognizing that, it’s not true anymore that if you pay your dues and go to college and get good

grades you can get a job. Or the kind of job you want. And then, as that promise in America slips away, so too maybe does some of our moral fabric. In that sense, there is a connection that you feel to both of these people -- that their better selves have slipped away with their economic circumstances because it’s corroded their esteem and done things to them, the sorts of things that make us our lesser selves. So do you try and avoid that kind of tidal wave of slightly ‘trashy’ media? The truth is I can get swept up in it too. None of us are immune to those kinds of stories and coverage. Part of what drives this type
of coverage though is impatience. Because things have to go fast and because they have to be picked up and there’s competition and because of the Internet, there’s just less and less time to vet, to check facts, and to execute it properly. There are fewer and fewer outlets that are doing it. There are fewer and fewer outlets that have foreign correspondents, so you’re relying on someone else completely. I mean, there is a good movie in the idea of someone who stages a big international news story and creates a gigantic hoax because no one is actually reporting. It’s like one story, and everyone picks it up. Has your experience as a director changed your acting or your understanding of acting? I think directing has made me a much better actor. It’s a great acting class. I think any actor who has the opportunity to direct a movie, either big or minuscule, ought to take it. The chance to sit on the other side during the auditioning process, the performance process at the monitor and the chance to cut a performance are hugely educational At least they were for me - hugely beneficial in terms of recognizing things that work and things that don’t. The way in which, you know, you can run a whole take for one emotion and run a whole second take for another emotion. You then get those emotions more purely and edit them together to create something really interesting. That stuff is really, really valuable. But is it easy to ‘let go of the reigns’ now and just be an actor on a set. Yes, it’s also valuable to recognize the primacy of the director. The director is taking the ship in one direction and you do your best to tie your ship to his. It doesn’t mean you can’t add flares - you can motor, you can sail. You want to go the way that the director is going. Sometimes it’s easy to fall into a trap as an actor to try to veer off and go in your own direction. That just doesn’t work. It’s the director’s movie. With a guy like David Fincher, it’s very easy to strap yourself to the mast and say, ‘Alright, let’s go.’ Hurricane or calm seas, I’m in. I just think it’s helpful to see what could be done after a performance as well, if you really believe in the director. How did you create the bond and the intimacy you needed to with Rosamund? In terms of: the audience has to believe you are two people who kind of know each other inside and out really. But, I assume you didn’t know her beforehand? It was tricky with Ros for all kinds of reasons that I can’t get into without revealing too much about the plot. We can’t go there to a certain degree, in terms of what you’re seeing in flashback and how truthful it is. But that threw a wrench in things. It was hard, because it was very truncated the sort of ‘falling in love’ phase. You had to accomplish a lot in a short time - kind of shorthand it. With David, because you’re shooting so much, there isn’t a lot of time to sit around, chat, get to know the real you and tell stories about your parents and that sort of thing. You’re really just there to work. Also, Ros is a bit enigmatic, almost slightly inaccessible, which I think is actually good. There’s an undercurrent of alienation in the movie, so maybe this can sort of work for that. It’s easier to create warmth and smiles and do all those things that we associate with happy relationships than it is to flavour it with a few spices of indifference and resentment. You know, loathing… if that make sense!

SHOULD YOU WORK OUT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH?
Although some people swear by it, the experts agree - you need food to fuel your workout. If you’re about to hit the gym, you need food in your system before a workout. If you’re hungry, your body goes into survival mode, meaning it will store more fat and could start to break down muscle protein, therefore slowing down metabolism. Exercising when you haven’t eaten will also will stand in the way of your fitness goals.

A study indicates that all-day exposure to natural light, even by means of a window, leads to longer sleep duration at night, as well as increased physical activity and quality of life. There is increasing evidence that exposure to light, during the day, particularly in the morning, is beneficial to your health via its effects on mood, alertness and metabolism.

PREDICTION OF BREAST CANCER o
ne of women’s first concerns is breast cancer because it is the commonest cancer worldwide in females and is not restricted to a certain age. There are a couple of questions that usually occupy the minds of most of those who have a family history of breast cancer, how can I know whether I’m susceptible or not? And, ladies who are already diagnosed with breast cancer, Is it curable? Do I have to perceive Chemotherapy after surgery? October being the breast cancer awareness month, Lounge brought you Dr. Ahmed Ihab’s answers to those questions.
Ahmed Ihab Abdelaziz MD, PhD Associate Professor of Molecular Medicine & Genetic Pathology Genetic Diagnostic Center http://www.gdc-egypt.com/index.php
LOUNGE 44
The answer for those questions actually lies within the genetic signature of the females therefore genetic testing is very important for relieving anxiety and uncertainity, especially in families with previous history of breast Cancer. Genetic testing helps to predict the risk of disease and identify those who don’t have the disease, but do have certain mutations that could be inherited by their babies. The results of the genetic test will not only help with the prediction, but also with the early diagnosis and proper therapy; therefore, genetic counseling, both before and after the genetic test, is highly recommended for patients women with previous family history. The good news is that no genetic test can report with 100% certainty that a female will develop breast cancer, but it speculates that she is at a higher risk of developing breast cancer than the general population. At the same time, not every female with a cancerpredisposition gene will develop cancer, especially if she undertakes all the required precautions and she avoids risk factors such as, smoking as well as changing her life style into a healthy one according to her Physicians recommendation. In very few cases, females with a genetic predisposition to develop breast cancer such as, a woman with a breast cancer susceptibility gene mutation can reduce her risks by partial removal of the beast (BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation). On the other hand, genetic testing for females with breast cancer is important to identify the proper treatment and to follow up the progress of therapy. Finally, the genetic signature made breast cancer to become a manageable disease through its early diagnosis, therapy and prognosis.

Suez Canal Development Project, which president Abdel Fattah El Sisi launched recently, is considered a huge transition on both the economical and architectural level, as it will reshape Egypt by providing a huge addition to the country. “And from the architectural aspect which is my main concern, the project will reshape the provinces around the canal to make it one of the most attractive cities over looking strategic axes like Bangkok, ” said the award winning engineer.

She also stressed the fact that the cities overlooking the canal should turn into duty free ports like how Port Said used to be during president Sadat’s reign because this will encourage a lot of investors to invest their money in the region, especially if the country provides airports around the canal to facilitate the arrival of the people to the region, which opens the door to huge number of tourists to this area beside the investors. The Egyptian architect added that establishing new cities in those areas with full services will be a great factor in attracting workers to work
in this project and move to the canal area, which will help the government make use of the desert surrounding the canal area and helping in making end to unemployment by providing opportunities to the youth. When asked about the importance of the project, Dalia expressed her admiration to the Egyptian strong well as Egyptians were able through supporting this project to show to the whole world how they are able to overcome any obstacle through their unity, and it reminded her of how Egypt was able to overcome many obstacles like building Aswan Dam during president Gamal Abdel Nasser.

Historic Egyptian Palace Integrates High-Tech Touches at the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino
When it comes to historic hotels of Egypt, there is only one undisputed king, and that is the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino. The original building dates back to the 19th century when Khedive Ismail had it specially constructed to welcome royal guests who were in town to witness the inaugural celebrations of the Suez Canal. While the monarchs have come and gone, the palace remains beautifully intact and, with the arrival of new tech-friendly features, a showpiece for what modern hospitality can be. Guests arriving at this Cairo, Egypt palace hotel may expect an anachronism that transports them back in time. What they find, however, is a property that thoughtfully melds the best of historic grandeur with contemporary convenience. Case in point is the Wi-Fi access that guests can now enjoy on a complimentary basis, not just in the public areas but in their guest rooms and throughout the hotel. This move was made especially with the millennial traveler in mind.

Capricorn Dec.23 - Jan.20 In October 2014 you can benefit from popularity due to the couple relationship or the partner can help you stand out or advance hierarchically. It is also possible that you’ll be attracted to people with a good image that have power and prestige. A sentimental affair resulted from professional interaction will not be excluded. On the other hand, October 2014 foreshadows unusual events that regard your relationship, family or home. A sudden change will be possible or a sudden decision regarding cohabitation or administration of shared money. Your career will be marked by relationships all throughout October 2014: collaborations will acquire more importance, social contacts can help when trying to solve some problems and they can even contribute to success, you’ll take some professional decisions based on some sentimental impulses or, on the contrary, you’ll make sentimental choices according to professional objectives.
Aquarius Jan.21 - Feb.19 Your relationships will flourish in October 2014. It’s about relationships in general: you’ll socialize a lot, you’ll meet new people and start new friendships. You’ll feel an urge, a current that will draw you to the others - and the others to you. The same tendency will be true for your couple relationships too, which will go through a dynamic, constructive period, of cooperation in its practical aspects, but also of mental and spiritual communion. October 2014 will be a good time to make plans and join powers with the partner, with the aim of carrying out a joint project. If you’re looking for your soulmate, you can meet somebody with the same vision as you, the same original mind. At the passionate and sexual level, you might have a dilemma, look for some answers or come back to some older issues. However, this month doesn’t favour the independent development, but only as part of a team.
Pisces Kate Winslet, October 5, 1975
Feb.20 - Mar.21 You’ll have great need for love and great availability to offer love in your turn. You’ll overflow your affection on the dear person, you’ll find the right gestures and words to get them close to you. If you are single, September 2014 could bring a new love in your way. Beyond the romantic aspects, money seems to be a current issue. September 2014 will be an extremely interesting month for Pisces people from the professional point of view. Collaborations will no doubt be the most important issue of the month. Partnerships, teamwork and even social contacts can bring you money and success. New associations and alliances are foreseen, and there could also be new contracts. Your actions and projects will surge in the second part of September 2014. All throughout the month you will have a lot of work capacity and good protection against diseases. However, it will be good to eat diet food, to have enough rest and not to be so consumed with the other people’s problems.

This month, it’s possible that you’ll face some troubles that have to do with somebody or something from far away or with money, or that you’ll find out about a hidden thing that bothers you. It is also possible that you’ll be in a burdening state of mind, that you’ll be obsessed with something from the past or simply be in a “stand-by” phase, interested in other things, and that nothing much will happen. Money seems to be an important issue in your couple life in October 2014 though and, as it looks, it also seems connected to the accommodation, family, parents. Still, October 2014 will be a month with a great potential to succeed. It’ll be an active and ambitious month, in which you’ll make great efforts to prove what you can, to assert yourself, to advance.

Apr.21 - May 21
May.22 - Jun.21
Don’t expect October 2014 to be a month in which everything will go according to the plan. However, you should expect special events with an impact on the couple relationship or on your partner’s life, events whose development will be unexpected, dynamic, impulsive. Unexpected development can also involve your finances or career. October 2014 will be an active month at the financial level, in which you’ll deal with business, purchase, investments or other activities that are related to banks, insurance, the IRS. However, some of the initiatives could be governed by changes of heart, troubles, delays. You are strong and resilient so the configuration of this month will end up in no more than some higher stress related to daily duties. But the field will be mined, so watch out! Caution will be required. Organize your work carefully and don’t take any overload!
The characteristic of your sentimental life in October 2014 will be dynamism, you will be excited, challenged, and it will awaken your interest and wishes - and trigger events, which should be positive, constructive, happy. In some cases it can be about a joint effort of the two members of the couple leading to succes and fulfillment. In other cases, about an accomplishment of your partner. But just as well the configuration can bring Geminians some sudden love, can facilitate a conquering operation or can act as a catalyst for the break-up of an inappropriate relationship. In October 2014, your professional success will be stimulated by group partnerships and projects, but will be marked by incitement, rivalry and competition. There will be plenty of ideas and initiatives and you’ll go on many trips, have a lot of interesting meetings and discussions. You’ll make new acquaintances, negotiate new contracts, plan new collaborations.

Jun.22 - Jul.23
Jul.24 - Aug.23
October 2014 will bring a greater need for privacy, warmth and tenderness. It doesn’t seem to be a very expansive month, marked by whoknows-what burning passion or lust for adventure, but rather oriented towards peaceful life, home, family and domestic chores. Privacy does not exclude socialization. In October 2014, you and your partner will have the chance to gladly receive dear guests or meet with people close to you, organize family reunions, etc. It is possible that you’ll be preoccupied with the redecoration of your home to make it more beautiful or more comfortable. Or maybe you’ll consider buying or renting a new place. Or maybe you’ll decide to move in together if you live separately. Parents, relatives or children will influence your couple life one way or another.
October 2014 distinguishes itself by an overwhelming sexual force, fervent wishes and the tendency towards adventure, passion can outburst suddenly and it’ll be difficult, if not impossible, to control. Romantic correspondence, going out together and trips with a sentimental purpose will be part of your love life in October 2014. In some cases, it can be about somebody from far away or who comes from a cultural, university, spiritual or legislative environment. October 2014 will push you forward and will be the bearer of enthusiasm and progress. You’ll be attracted to grand projects, you’ll be under the impression that all objectives can be reached. In many cases it will be true and many will benefit from special opportunities.

Aug.24 - Sep.23
Sep.24 - Oct.23
October 2014 foreshadows to be rather peaceful and prosaic in the relationships department. You’ll not overflow with romantic manifestations; your emotional behavior will mainly be discreet and reserved. In fact, it seems that you’ll place emphasis on the practical aspects of life, rather than on the romantic ones. Your couple the discussions will primarily be focused on money or work, on the partner’s duties or even their health. The initiative and efforts seem to be connected to home and family. You might tidy together, redecorate or build, move or rent, try to help a relative, or experience certain domestic turbulence. Some of you could feel that the partner does not give them enough attention or that they slip through their fingers. It will also be an interesting month as regards money. You can expect a lot of agitation, surprising developments, changes of situation, stress.
Unexpected turns can always happen - this would be the motto of October 2014. This month will enhance your affective needs and your capacity to attract, making the couple and the love life to acquire special emphasis. There are signs though that suggest possible changes, surprising developments, and significant events. October 2014 will bring you a full sentimental life, even restless, which new, challenging elements will interfere with; a sentimental life that will eventually find the right way in spite of the fact that it will have experienced a certain lack of equilibrium. It will also be a month rich in activities and contacts that will keep you active. Out of the ordinary developments can also occur in your collaborations. In October 2014, everything will be dynamic, will shift, will change, and sometimes this will happen rather suddenly. Learn how to adjust as you go, how to adapt your strategy - and you’ll be successful!
Scorpio
Sagittarius
Oct.24 - Nov.22
Nov.23 - Dec.22
You have probably had happier times than this one - and you’ll probably have again. For now, October 2014 doesn’t promise you much happiness at the level of relationships. Yet, it will be an extraordinary month by the career opportunities that will offer you. You’ll probably be the patron of such accomplishments, for which you have worked hard for a while, with discretion, maybe even secretly. That’s not all though. Expect for fate to take you by surprise and for luck to come along when and where you least expect it! Basically, so that you can benefit from the favourable astral conditions in October 2014 you’ll need to be bold and to welcome the changes. Spare yourself and, if you know you suffer from any ailments or vulnerability or if you notice something wrong with the way your body works, you are recommended to see a doctor very soon and to follow the treatments exactly.
In October 2014, it’s possible that the focus moves back to some older situations that haven’t been settled at the right time, that you’ll need to analyse a problem in detail over and over again, with hesitation and changes of heart, or that you come across small troubles, lack of synchronization or faulty assessment. Anyway, you’ll have the power to graciously go over inconveniences, which you’ll smooth by a friendly, warm and optimist attitude. It would be a pity to do otherwise because October 2014 is nevertheless a good period to have fun together with the partner, to participate in shared social activities and to make future plans together. This month you’ll need more than ever to manifest yourself energetically, to fight for something, to prove your qualities, to impose your point of view, to coordinate, to rule.
